Basically yes it is good and if it's in your budget go for it. Don't listen to the i5 suggestions, while they may be a good idea in theory when it comes to gaming you didn't specify what else you would be using it for so your better off getting the 2600 or the 2600K if they're the same price which I find tends to be the case.
Hard drive is good if your not expecting lighting fast boot up times, but for gaming you won't really notice too much of a difference when it comes to load times. Also someone's bound to mention Solid state drives at some point but unless your made of money there's no need/point to go there unless you just want to put your Windows installation onto something separate.
Graphics card would probably be best to wait for a little bit since Nvidia and Radeon are planning on releasing a brand new line of cards which should drop the price of the 500 series, then pick up either a 570/580 and you'll be set with above average graphics for at least the foreseeable future. I have 2 580s and I run Battlefield 3 across 3 monitors on 2650*1080 with no problems, so a 580 would get you the highest graphics on most games for at least the next year or so since PC is kinda being left to rot when it comes to graphics.
Ram probably doesn't need to be 16gb and you could get away with the ol' 8gb but check to see if instead of getting the 1333mhz ram you could get the 1600mhz because it will keep you ahead of the curve for a while.
No point in really going into detail with the motherboard since chances are you won't overclock or tweak the settings so you don't need the high speced boards, just make sure you can use sli as well as cross fire on it and you'll be fine.
Blu ray player unless your planning on playing blu rays would really go to waste as I can't see games being released on blu ray for at least the next 3-4 years if it happens at all.
Windows makes no real difference unless you need something special from the more expensive versions, and lastly the case makes next to no difference if your not planning on overclocking anything so the stock vents should be more the adequate for the task, unless you don't like the look then get a different one.
All in all it's a solid build no matter what anyone says, all they are doing is nit picking with their own preferences, best of luck with your new computer, whatever it may be
