Jose Aldo (W) vs Chad Mendes: Honestly wasn't that impressed with his performance against Kenny Florian, he seemed really scared to chuck kicks etc and i was expecting the same in this fight. With Mendes coming out strong with kicks, Aldo followed. Towards the end of the round after several failed take downs Mendes finally got some sort of control in the form of back control. It was looking like Mendes may win the round before in the final seconds catches Mendes with a Knee kick and knocks him out cold. Impressive finish by Aldo showing why he should be champ.
Vitor Belfort (W) vs Anthony Johnston: The fight was building up to be fairly controversial with AJ overweight at weigh in's which led to 20% of his pay going to Vitor for this fight. AJ managed to get Vitor on the ground twice in a half mount. Johnston managed to land a very nice punch while on the ground which lead to Vitor's eye swelling over. After a rough start to the round Belfort got some ground back control which lead to a choke, winning him the fight in the final 11secs. Anthony Johnston is expected to be kicked out due to being so far overweight at weign in's and being so unapologetic at the same time.
Rousimar Palhares (W) vs Mike Massenzio: With Palhares submission skills and pure strength this fight was always going to be fairly one sided. Palhares considered as one of the best leg submission fighters in the world again showed his skill securing a win with a Leg lock alittle after a minute into the fight.
Erick Silva vs Carlo Prater (W): A very controversial result with Carlo Prater receiving the win via Disqualification after being knocked out within 30seconds. Referee Mario Yamasaki saw the punches as being illegal when Prater was taken to the ground and handed the win to Prater via DQ. Although only 1 illegal punch was landed Yamasaki had to make a decision and Rogan was quick to disagree.
Edson Barboza (W) vs Terry Etim: A very good fight but overrall Barboza was quite dominant thoughout. With this win Barboza moved to 9-0 and that much closer to a lightweight title shot. His knockout was in my opinion the best of the night over Aldo's with a Heel Kick to the Head, sealing the victory over Etim
Johnson was really tired as the round went on. Having to keep his weight down all night cost him and being so dehydrated for so long made him gas really quickly. Vitor didn't look all the impressive but was good to see him get the win.
That DQ was such bullshit. Punches hit the back of the head all the time, it's to hard to avoid. In this case I don't think they effected the outcome of the match too much and the win should have gone to Silva.
Enjoyed the event. Was strongly suggested to be a poor event due to the fights but once again the fights that aren't great on paper often translate to being great.
Barboza impressed me along with Palhares.
From what I know there is no way that Erick Silva's DQ can be overturned which is very dissapointing.
Glad that Belfort beat rumble and now he will possible be cut from the UFC.
And Aldo running into the crowd after the win was epic.
Quote from guestywins on the 15th of January 2012:
UFC on fox card looks fairly disappointing no where as good as the last
Guesty do u mean UFC on FOX or UFC on FX looks disappointing? Coz if you mean UFC on FOX, It's probs the best card in a very very long time. Shad vs Phil, Chael vs Munoz and Bis vs Maia....HUGE event.
I hadnt seen Aldo before he fought in the UFC, so I really wasnt aware of all the "Number 3 pound for pound" talk, and after his first 2 fights in the UFC I wasnt overly impressed with him...But today, very very impressive.
Rumble much the opposite, very poor performance. Theres talk Dana is gonna cut him, I really hope not. Too much talent to throw aside.

Considering he cut Daley and Torres, I can certainly see him cutting Johnson for coming in ow for the third time.
Re instated Torres tho.. Rumble has been fighting at welterweight how the **** did he make that cut if he cant cut to middleweight.. Should just fight at Light Heavy Weight where he wouldnt have to cut as much and would be a more comfortable weight to show his true potential but i really dont see him beating the top guys at light heavy weight.
I'd wait until Ariel Helwani interviews dana before its %100 confirmed.
You watch the weigh ins video rumble made so many excuses.

AH doesn't need to get the word out for it to be official!
Like Renzy said, the silver back gorilla is goneskies. https://twitter.com/#!/danawhite
"To be honest, we're probably going to cut him after this event," White said. "Three strikes and you're out. This is his third time that he hasn't made weight. He's the co-main event in a huge fight down here in Brazil. This one was a bad one.
"Rumble Johnson did the damage to himself. To be that unprofessional, and not come in on weight and be that far off when you used to fight at 170. That was one of the most unprofessional things I've ever seen.
"The guy was at 170lbs. He moved up to 185 so this wouldn't happen anymore, and this is the worst weight-cutting disaster he's ever had. He almost ruined the co-main event here in Brazil. I don't know what else to say about that one. I'm not happy about it."
