And yet it is correct, go figure. With best of 6 how it currently is you need 4 to win, which means 2x attacking, 2x defending, so both teams have equal opportunity at both sides. With best of 4 you could play a heavily defensive based map, and whichever team started on Defense would essentially have a greater chance of winning, as they would have the chance of winning 2x defensive rounds and 1x offensive, whereas the other team has to win 2x offensive and 1x defensive - If they have 1 bad defensive round, they're ****ed or vice versa with the opposition having one good attacking round.

LOL no that's completely incorrect.

Best of 6 can be won:

3 attacking, 1 defensive
2 Attacking, 2 defensive
1 attacking, 3 defensive

Best of 4 is exactly the same.

You can go:

2x attacking, 1x defensive

or

2x defensive, 1x attacking.

Fact is, as long as you both play equal rounds it's largely irrelevant who starts first. Both teams have potential to fail or succeed on one of these rounds.

First infront by 2, means that you have to play both sides. Win 1x defensive, 1x aggressive. You can't just win 1x defensive or 1x attacking and win.

What?

Yes it can be won in those ways, that's not what i'm saying at all. With best of 6, before anyone can win, you have to have played an equal amount of rounds, 2x attack and 2x defence, which gives both teams an equal shot at both sides.

With best of 4, one team can win by playing the easier side twice, and only having to play the harder side once. I'm not saying this will always be the case, as both teams could win their first defensive rounds or whatever. But it is bias towards whoever starts on the easier side first, how can you not see this? rofl.

lol

For a team to win, they have to win on the harder side. That means that someone loses on the easy side.

If no-one ever wins on the harder side, it's always a draw.

It really makes **** all difference to the outcome if that 'harder' side win happens in the first round or the last round.

4v4 is exactly the same as it is now. The only way you can win without winning on the harder side is if their team drops out.

Originaly 15th-ish on ladder before ELO system.. iMmunity challenged us a beat us fair enough. Then this ELO system comes in and we get dropped to 52nd. (in b4 uMAD etc)

That's how an ELO Rating system works. If there were 1000 chess players who started on 1000 points and after the first game the Winning player won 5 points and the losing player lost 5 points this would mean that the rankings are: Player on 1005 First, everyone else on 1000 points 2nd tie and the guy with 995 points would be dead last by himself.

If between that time no other game played again and first place wanted to play last place against, the points are rewarded according to their ratings. I.e. If the player coming last won he would receive 7.5 and the player coming first lost he would most likely lose 6. It's really not that hard of a concept. Everyone started on the same points and most default teams are sitting on 1400 still when you dropped your game and went below 1400, you went below everyone else. You will never gain points simply for participating in a match.

Quote from dawsoN on the 7th of February 2012:
So last night I offered a second match to AUS. Which they declined i just found out..

No point rewards or anything for the defending team declining our challenge( Just another bug)

This is a loophole that will not be fixed anytime soon, if ever. The Elo Rating system got knocked back last year specifically for BF3 because of this flaw when it was found August last year.

Personally I love ELO rating systems. They are an appropriate measure of a teams rank once it gets kicked off, onfortunately the CG Elo system needs tweaks.

Yes it does, if someone declines then they will/should receive a loss. If they don't please send the match link to an admin and they will fix it
