Hey there guys / girls / Slayer,

There is an upcoming Left4Dead1 ladder tournament that will be starting shortly.
I made this tournament for all the people who missed out on the last one and are keen to have a crack at a ladder style tournament.

The original idea was to balance out the teams and create about 7-8 even sides to play off for the title but as we progressed in the planning stage it was looking less and less likely that this would work due to the fact that basically everyone in this game hates each other and will only play with a small, select group of people before salking and rage quitting.

The tournament will be run for a period of 8 weeks and will be a "ladder style tournament" Where as teams will have open reign to challenge up the ladder for the top 4 spots who at the end of the 8 weeks will play off against each other for a spot in the grand final. The reason for the "ladder style" is to get teams to play more than 1 game, and also for the teams that lose their first and / or second match to get another chance to come back and work a bit harder for a place in the top 4.

There is a lot of interest around the community and even though we have a very small one, this game was once very loved and played by a lot of people so im sure we can pull together and have another tournament. what have we got to lose really?

The ladder is open and unlocked for people to start adding their teams up there and the tournament will start as soon as we have enough teams to play. Games will be held on the 2 CG servers and cfg to be played will be HC rotoblin ( im sure we are all familiar with that ) and games will be streamed and casted as well.

Please guys, keep your negative opinions and comments to yourself and don't bother posting it here, At the end of the day, its just a game, and we are all in it to just have some fun.

I'd play if the maps used did not include No Mercy.

How about Suicide Blitz. City 17. Death Aboard.

You know? The best maps valve never made?

Open to all suggestions Zombiee. We can modify and mould it anyway we want.

Dead Air and BH would be the only two original maps I would play.

Suicide Blitz, City 17 and Death Aboard are all amazing maps and should definantly be added to the map pool to replace Snore Mercy and DT.

Definantly keen for this if it goes ahead!

Yea that can be arranged, will just have to upload the maps to the server and remove the others from the choosing pool.

If it's a ladder, why do maps needs to be removed from the selection?

Well I believe we originally removed DT from selection because it wasn't a viable competiton map. No Mercy has just become a huge snore fest, even Dead Air has become quite a snore fest map too. BH can always turn out differently since it's such an open map, makes it more interesting. (Correct me if i'm wrong)

Custom maps would bring some enjoyment back to the game with different strats needed by both teams, practice and the fact that it's just something new in general.

I didn't mean to argue against the introduction of custom campaigns, I meant that they have been tried before. Many times in fact, and they've never been played with any decent amount of consistency. Now this is a different time, the only people playing in this are going to be real L4D diehards, so maybe it'll work.

If this is going to follow a ladder structure, as in maps aren't going to be enforced then why remove options?
