Hey guys, right now I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from a Phenom 945 3.0Ghz.
It has relatively high performance but it is VERY unstable while I am either recording with fraps, trying to live stream, rendering, and BF3.
I was looking at reviews of the new BullDozer line-up from AMD and from what I've read they are complete garbage.
My budget it $300, so if anyone has some good recommendations I would appreciate it

1100T + Kuhler 620 will suffice your needs, will have a nice stable O/C at good temps.

If I can get a CPU of equivalent power, and a good mobo for $300 I would happily go to Intel, but I don't have that money.

I'll look that up now. Cheers.

It's the best you'll get with $300, as you said BD isn't worth it and the 1100T is the top of the line Phenom processor, read some Antec Kuhler 620 reviews also, you'll see that it is decent for $$'s worth.

Dude, you don't get it. I WAS an AMD fanboy, until, the day.
The day when i finally realised that AMD were ******* horrendous. It was the day i received my Old i5 650 dual core. That day, i knew that intel was better in EVERY respect.

That old intel i5 650 EASILY beat amd's Phenom x4 965 in pretty much ever aspect, heat, performance.

I won't ever buy amd ever again.
If you have the spare $$$$ buy intel, you won't look back. That being said, if you have a decent AMD motherboard already, use it as a spare and buy intel.

I know that Intel CPU's fat out-perform AMD, but I do not have the money to upgrade to Intel (and yes I already have a good AMD Motherboard)
But when people bash AMD for overheating and such it annoys me, as I've never overheated once with any of my AMD CPU's (Overclocked + Default Heatsink)

I'm not exactly looking for a top of the line CPU, I just need to do what is in the OP to a decent standard.

Lol @ b0b he's an idiot.

Phenom processors are not in production anymore but you should be able to find new 1100T's and 1090T's around ebay and such. They're pretty decent CPUs.

www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=amd+1100T&spos=1

Or you could buy a i5 2400 + an Asus P8H61 Motherboard from PCCG for $294. But I wouldn't really recommend it.

Which what I said will do, those stores on staticice may have old stock left so check them out before eBay, the Kuhler just grab from a local PC store or PCCaseGear.

AMD hasn't failed me since 2004 either.

Alrighty I'll look into the 1100t's and that Cooler you were talking about.
I'm pretty sure they still have them at GoComp.
