So that's it ATM, I have about 25tb worth of hard drives sitting under my desk which is why there is only x1 drive on there. I also know that there is no optical drive on there, I have x2 blueray drives under my desk as well,

the total cost is $5014 but I am reconsidering the 590 and thinking I would be better off getting a 560ti for the next 2-3 months until nvidia launch there new line of cards..

Also inb4 poor butthurt prebs rage that I am spending 5k on a pc I work in It and get paid very ******* well for it, The money isnt an issue for me.

I am an nvidia and Intel fanboy and have a strong discontent for people who say ATI/AMD is better...

What should I be buying If I am planning on running bf3 and wow in 5769x1080? as well as video rendering?(not trying to sound like a ****) but you can have a high end PC without wanting to overclock it, I could be spending $3000 on a PC to over clock up to the specs of this build but I would rather pay the extra cash and just get a beast.
This is going to sound really ******ed but I see people who buy i5's and the 1155 i7's as people who want there computer to be a ninja not very stong but with training(overclocking) it will be a ninja, I would rather spend the extra cash and buy a tank....

bf3 and wow will run fine on an i5, for that res a single 7970 would do it, or maybe a 580 etc.

especially important, if youre only gonna retire it, you dont want to put 5k into it, to set it aside in 12 months when an i3 and gtx550ti would run media fine, even thats overkill.

for youre 5k, you could easily setup a decent gaming box to last, and a media box at the same time

Is this a joke? A media server with this? I could build a media server for $400 and it would do me just fine. It's called a NAS drive. You could spend half as much and then spend the rest of the money on starving children in Africa or donating to charity, but you choose to waste your money so you can have the best things in life. It's not always about you, unfortunately.

Also, get an SSD if you're going performance, who knows, maybe it will help you in the future with the rest of the pointless hardware in the build.

should be around 1k, depending on how many drives you put in, if you put in 2 or 3 expect that to be 1500
and this is massive overkill for media anyway

that would be around 4200 all up if you max both of those out, and provide you way better value for money than your 5k retiring soon monster
