I was listening through some of the tracks that were 'new' at the time I was just getting into electronic music, and I was doing a self comparison to the quality, creativity and style to the music I listen to today.

Here's some of the older music I'd listen to:

And some of today's music:

What do you think? Has the quality / creativity / style changed alot since when you started liking electronic music?

Music is always changing, a lot of it is down to personal preference though to be completely honest.

Dubfire is amazing.

It's hard to say whether it's getting better or worse. I don't really think you can say one way or the other. Some of it is amazing and some of it is eh.

I think there are enough innovative artists out there that will keep electronic music progressing and then some not so much.
e.g

As to the style it's been happening for a while but dubstep love it or hate it is making it's mark (about 10 years late) and even still the style of it has changed so much I'd almost say it's a new subgenre of the older stuff like Burial Coki Benga Skream and the like.

The one thing I don't see much of in Australia is drum and bass, this makes me sad :C
