Our 4v4 overlord OzFalcon has left us; but who said 4's would die?
Housekeeping
As you are all aware, the 4v4 Ladder Ruleset has been updated in accordance with the changes to the EU Decerto Ruleset; as should be self-explanatory, these changes (and any future alterations) will be applied to this competition, and towards any 4v4 competitions hereafter.
Also, for those new or unfamiliar with how Double Elimination ODC's (One Day Competitions) work, essentially the entire competition is played out in a single day and teams are only eliminated from the competition after receiving a second loss, meaning that you can lose once and still go on to win the competition! Obviously, if your team is not available on the day, you will not be able to participate. These will be explained in further detail below.
Date and Time
The format for this 4v4 P2P will be a One Day Competition (ODC). It will be held on Sunday the 5th of February.
On Feb 5th we will start at 10:30am and finish late (9pm will be the latest we finish).
Please make sure that your team is able to compete on that date and all day before registering.
Teams who show up late will forfeit their match or matches. Just like previous P2Ps, we will run to schedule!
Team Registration
The list of registered teams can be found
HERE, listed under "ODC 4 League". Registration and payment is
OPEN until Midnight (11:59pm) on Friday the 3rd of February.
When registering your team, you will be placed in a waiting pool until your team has enough eligibles and is approved. Once your team has been approved, it will be placed in the list of competing teams.
Once your team is approved and listed, you can pay your registration by clicking the Payment Portal link at the top of the page.
Please note that if you registered for the current 4v4 Double Elimination competition ending on January 31st, your team has already been added to the ladder for competing teams. From here, you are free to pay for your team, edit your roster, or remove your team; no obligations, merely an attempt to streamline the process for you. Teams still participating in the aforementioned competition will be added to the ladder for competing teams once they have been eliminated from the current competition, and will have adequate time to sort payment and rosters.
Double Elimination Bracket and Seeding
The Double Elimination Bracket will be posted here on Saturday the 4th of February.
Please note that for this competition,
random seeding will be employed; so for all those teams who've shied away in the past due to the prospect of being seeded poorly, now is your chance to shine!
However, for future One Day Competitions, previous placings (including those in this competition) will be considered for seeding purposes. Please note that only the previous three competitions will be considered, that the entire bracket may not be seeded (per admin discretion), that placings in more recent competitions will be weighted higher and that 75% of the team must still remain in order to be attributed their respective seeding points. The full details of this seeding process will be revealed in the near future.
Prizes
Prizes are currently TBA and will be announced concurrently with the Double Elimination Bracket and Seedings on the 4th of February. Registration fees are 100% given back to the community and will determine the prize pool.
As a rough guide, 16 teams at $40 entry each will allow a $400/$200/$40 prize breakdown from 1st to 3rd placings.
Rosters and Entry Fee
Each team is limited to a max of 8 players but they can all play on competition day. You can switch up and play any combination of your eligible roster without it affecting your flat registration fee of $40 per team.
Once your team has been moved from the waiting pool to the list of approved teams, you can pay your registration fee here -
http://www.cybergamer.com.au/payment/88/
All rosters will be locked at the same time as registration and payment cut-off which is 11:59pm Feb 3rd.
Tournament Structure
There will be no pool play. This will be a straight out Double Elimination competition.
All matches will be a best of 5 series:
CTF, SND, CTF, SND, CTF
We will be using the continuation rule if needed. This will create a best of 11 series:
CTF, SND, CTF, SND, CTF, SND, CTF, SND, CTF, SND, SND
It is important that all competitors have a thorough understanding of the continuation rule before competing.
If teams are scheduled to play each other for a 2nd time in Double Elimination, their match will expand to a best of 11 series, include the previous match, and pick up where that match left off. For example, if player A beat player B 3 Games to 0 in the Winners Bracket, the best of 11 will resume with gametype 4 and player A leading 3 games to 0.
If you are playing a team for the second time in the competition and need to play a best of 11 series, you must contact BPL (on CyberGamer) or baked poslayto (on Xbox) for your list of maps / gametypes.
If you are still confused over this rule, feel free to send me a PM and I will try explain how it works.
Game Rules
All rules are subject to change between now and the commencement of the competition in accordance to international ruleset changes.
Spawns will be determined based on seed. The highest seed (going into the comp), will choose spawns for maps 1, 3 & 5.
A neutral host is preferred for all matches, but not essential. If a neutral host can not be found, both teams need to agree on hosting arrangements. This can be one team hosting the entire match or switching hosts between halves or gametypes.
Party chat is allowed for all gametypes.

MSN Group and Staff
Send me private message with your MSN address and I will invite you to the P2P MSN group. We would like a captain from each team present in this group to make organising matches easier on game date. The MSN Group is only for competing teams.
This thread, along with the double elimination bracket, will be constantly updated on game day and we expect teams to organise themselves in getting matches started. We do not want to be chasing teams. The more you guys can do to help this comp almost self-run on the day, the smoother it will run. As players and teams, you all play a major part in the success and continuation of these P2P competitions. The community has been outstanding in making them work so thanks! Good luck to all teams competing!
Please feel free to post below if you have any questions, queries or comments!
We wish all teams competing the best of luck and hope you enjoy the competition,
