After many many years of online competitive call of duty i was pursuaded by my now team mates to try out this BF3. After just an hour of online i was ready to stop cod forever. But the transition wasnt easy. Im still only level 2 or 3 but its confusing me. How do i tackle this animal in regards to upgrading weapons, attachments, xp, etc? There are so many weapons and vehicles its not funny
I started 1 level online in a jet and was too afraid coz id crash and kill my team so i bailed. Definitely a fish out of water but looks, sounds and feels incredible to play.
Any tips?

Any of these videos should help. I'd suggest using the Assault class with an M416 Red dot. Once you unlock the defibrillator, whore that and you'll get plenty of XP every round.

Well, easy ways to level up is to play Rush, as you get 250 for arming/dis-arming a M-COM station and also 500 for detonating the M-COM station, also play Conquest! You get so much EXP from capturing flags and etc. My advice is to play games with an objective, not Team Deathmatch as you only get 100 points a kill on a small map with no vehicles.

Other ways is to level up every kit possible!
You get a huge amount of EXP from heals/revives in the Assault Kit and in Engineer you can disable/destroy vehicles, repairing vehicles, have a whole explosion armory at your fingertips (Mines, RPGS, JAVELINS, SMAWS... etc.) Also support can give you points for re-supplying team-mates and have basically unlimited ammo. In support you also get C4 and CLAYMORES which can re-stock from the Ammo Kit.

I don't recommend using Recon until you get a Sniper you like, you can still get a fair-decent amount of points from MOTION SENSOR spots and etc, but it's only a good kit for long-distance maps and gametypes.

Guns: Stick with one gun at a time in a class until you get a Service Star!
To get a Service Star (2000EXP) you have to unlock all attachments for that specific gun, so I stay on one gun till I get a Service Star just for the 2000EXP.

I have also noticed lag doesnt effect bf3 as much as cod. Im still waiting for my net to get reconnected and im using a usb modem. As bad as it is in speed terms, it is still very playable

couple of main things,

find out fast what type of person you want to play as, one that supports his team with med kits while pushing the lines or one who is on the choke points supplying ammo. your 3rd type is one who is a vechicle expert someone who can aim across the map take out a tank, evade jets etc, know how to fly.

lastly once you know your role, find out what weapon best suites you an make sure you stick to it

Were starting a team bro for when the 4v4 ladder starts up, u should join.

TBH battlefield3 is so much like cod that its just stupid.

Battlefield is Conquest, so play that

The moral isn't different. The gameplay however, is.

its not really... only difference is map size and vehicles on some maps.
Its feels just like COd and plays just like COD.
Some shooting system as well. All controls are the same...
