For a while now I've been having issues with my PC's power cutting out, or as it seems is the power but I've been led on to think it could be my RAM or something else other than my PSU. When I click to restart the PC, it responds without hesitation. It also sometimes locks onto my motherboards boot screen or whatever you wish to call it.

It also runs fine usually and only cuts out two times per day ._.

It has cut out mostly when playing COD4, HoN and sometimes on the desktop (idle or doing small tasks).

Can anyone identify what I need to get repaired?

Also, my Syncmaster SA950 gets random black dotting down the centre of the screen, I'm not keen on RMA'ing as it is quite massive but if there is a quick fix rather than RMAing please post up

Sincerely,

Noob with a lot of PC issues!

inb4 u have a sandy-bridge motherboard and its your motherboard.

This same problem has been happening to soooo many people using asus P8Z series mobos, if you do have a P8Z just RMA it because i bet you anything its that.

If its not that then try running memtest 86+ or alike.

Also if you need anymore help or you cant get it solved PM me and ill help you out until we get it fixed, i always love a challenging PC issue

Yeah as Sektor said check for dust...
Download GPU-Z and Speedfan and check temps
Just google them.

If that doesnt help swap parts out 1 by 1 and find the problem.

@Redbull I have the B2 SandyBridge mobo. No issues as of yet!

yeah I myself have not had any issues with either my P8z68-MPro or P8H61-MLE, but a lot of my clients have been coming to me with crashing/stalling/bsoding issues and pretty much all of them have been related to their P8Zs.

I have a M4A77TD PRO motherboard, quite old. As for the temperatures, they wouldn't be that high. Normally my GPU sits below 50 when I have COD4 with 250fps on a normal day, maybe gets up a little more when it gets hot but I doubt it would be overheating since I have had it cut out when my PC is idle.

If your getting lock ups there then i doubt its a temp issue....i advise you test your memory with the kit i linked in my last post :|
