SGL 6 – Heroes of Newerth

This time around, SGL has included Heroes of Newerth as the premier title at the event. It will feature $3,500 in cash prizes and over $2,000 in product value. The event will run over two days and feature a group stage and a playoffs stage.

Date: 28th and 29th of January (Sat & Sun)

1st -$1,750 CASH + $1,000 Product Value
2nd - $1,000 CASH + 5x ASUS Vulcan Headsets (RRP $169/headset)
3rd - $500 CASH + $500 Product Value
4th - $250 CASH

Schedule:
Registrations - 28/01/12 – 15:30 to 16:30
Group Stage – 28/01/12 - 16:30 to 22:00
Playoffs – 29/01/12 – 12:00 to 16:00

Remember: This Event is Bring your own computer (BYOC). There are some rental PC's available but you would have to organize this prior to the start of the event.

The delay isn't Shinkz' fault. As the SGL guys themselves have pointed out multiple times on their own forums, the delay was coming from S2's end in confirming prizes.

In other news, I need to figure out a co-caster for the weekend provided I can work this around the infused dota 2 comp.

Yeah, we have tried to do a format where there will still be heaps of fun and a variety of matches, it wont just be single elim. Every team has a minimum of 3-5 (depending on multiple of 4 or 5) games, half of the teams will have a minimum of 4 -6, and so on. So even if your in a group with Fray, you will have to play them once, but you still will play a stack of other matches, and most likely be able to progress through to the double elim round.


As in the other thread, its not S2's fault, we got in contact with each other rather late.

Ultimately though, i am more than happy to send an email back to S2 and say "sorry guys, the community really dosent want your money, we have decided to go with a more casual event". We wanted to get some sort of relationship going with S2 for this event, so that next event it can be larger, more established and better for everyone... but if I have done the wrong thing then I want to try and fix it....
