Hello CG Community.
Today I will be doing my very first review on the CREATIVE Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Alpha Gaming Headset.
This is my first review and will be doing others in the future, honest and fair feedback is more then welcome.
Please keep trolling to a minimum

This lightweight, durable headset is fantastic for long gaming marathons and offers a solid sound quality that is great for gaming, movies, and also music. This is a simple plug and play gaming headset, but the drivers can be downloaded of the Internet for free. The drivers offer a great amount of tips, volume changes, and sound differences. This is the ideal headset for anyone looking at purchasing a gaming grade headset, but not willing to pay to much, as it as a steady price of $59.00 AU in most Australian online, and/ or local computer shops.

Headset Info :

  • The CREATIVE Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Alpha Gaming Headset is a 3D THX special design. Acoustically optimized 40mm which gives you a fantastic 5.1 Surround sound feeling, with just a single speaker in each ear phone.

  • Connect the headset via 3.5mm minijacks to your Sound Blaster sound system, onboard audio or MP3 player. Alternatively, use the THX TruStudio Pro Dual Mode USB Adapter to connect to your PC or Mac via USB.

  • Change the sound of your volume, or mute your mic, with the THX Volume control dial.

  • The microphone is a clip-in Noise Canceling Condenser, with a frequency response of 80Hz~14kHz, and a sensitivity of -41dBV/Pa. It is very flexible, move it to your like as you need. It is a superb mic, and great for staying in contact with your friends on Teamspeak and Ventrilo.

My Thoughts

Pro's ;
- Very cheap.
- Decent sound quality
- Very light, and comfortable to wear
- Flexible, stretches to fit your head size

Con's ;
- The weight of the headset can affect it staying on your head if you move vigorously.
- It feels like it can snap quite easily.
- Sound quality could be better
- Mic protection foam falls off a lot

I bought this Headset about 4 days ago, as I didn't have the money to buy a $200 headset and after I did some research I went ahead and bought the CREATIVE Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Alpha gaming headset, knowing that Sound Blaster have brought out some solid budget products in the past. I found they are well worth the $59. Of course, comparing the the sound quality to the likes of the SteelSeries Siberia V2 ( which was my last headset) Wouldn't be fair, with a price difference of ~$100. In saying that, for the price you pay for the Sound Blasters, you probably couldn't do much better for the same price. I would more than recommend this headset for someone who is looking for quality audio gear, but is also on a tight budget.

I hope you enjoyed my review, if you have any questions you can either post on the thread, or add my xfire

Solid.

Its not actually surround sound seraph, just kinda well, emulated. Not sure if that is done using the USB connection, cause im not sure how you would get a 5.1 sound with only stereo headphones, unless you were using some kinda EAX on a soundcard (i.e a SB VX like i has)

seems cool though!

It uses dsp, (that's why it requires drivers lol,) obviously dsp alters the audio signal, giving non bit-transparent audio.

Either that or it actually has a DAC in the headset (possible since it's a usb cable.) This would also unfortunately be equally low quality sound.
