So for those of you that don't know the program OverWolf it is an overlay program that allows you to overlay your desktop and game with widgets which prevents the need to alt+tab from your game to "connect to real life".
Heres a quick little summary.
Quote:
A gamer that is playing a PC game is isolated from the "Real World" – his
social network connections, desktop and web applications. These applications
may include instant messaging software, social networks and email, or stock
market quotes and news – depending on the gamers' age and personal
preferences. To get in touch with the real world, gamers are forced to quit,
pause the game or Hit ALT+TAB and return to the default desktop resolution –
an inconvenient, time consuming and inefficient process. Overwolf allows
gamers to use their favorite applications while doing what they like best –
playing games. We also provide tools such as screen capture, video capture,
video replay and more, so that our users can easily share their gaming
experiences on social networks and show their skills to friends and family
Video here.

xfire web browser is pretty horrible, has nothing on steam browser, however steam browser has been playing up a bit too lately, just in guild wars though.. will check this program out.

OverWolf are also working with Teamspeak!

This might be better to use than Xfire, I might give it a try.

I dislike it, ever since I got it I have wanted to delete it but ceebz going to control panel.
The semi circle on the side gets in the way on some games (wow etc)
The facebook app only does newsfeed, I don't think you can use messenger
Teamspeak app doesn't work on 64 bit. ( or I may of downloaded the wrong version)
need to log out of steam on your computer to log in on over wolf.

It sounded like a good idea at first but I personally didn't like it

Looks like a good idea, I may have to try it. I kind of thought being out of the "real world" was a perk of playing games, but I guess that isn't the same for everyone. I tend to use my phone if I need to message someone or look something up.

i used this when i used to play World of tanks, as it was the only game it used to support back then.

but i didnt like it one bit, its slow and clunky, although that may have improved now, either way id rather just use xfire.

it pretty much just takes away alt tabbing.
which i would rather do than have an overlay over my screen :3

The semi circle can be minimized by clicking the x and it closes to tray and you just use the hotkeys. There is two facbook widgets one for just the "social feed" but one that like a complete facebook. You can use messenger. I am running on 64 bit and Teamspeak works fine after that little hiccup. Lastly the steam chat thing is for non steam games really so you can still be connected to steam somehow I know its pretty useless but some games steam overlay doesn't work with like cod 4 always have had PB problems with it.
