Alrighty, now that we are getting this section active again I'm getting in before thousands of threads about acceleration.

Run the game in OpenGL mode (This is in the video tab once you have launched the game) and put these in your launch options.

-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd -freq 60 -dxlevel 90

Don't know how to get there?

-heapsize is a handy command - tells the game how much ram to use in kb

-nojoy too

Though a lot of these older performance ones aren't really that useful anymore as most people have computers that blow 1.6 out the window

developer 1 removes the fps lock at 100fps and remember to disable vsync otherwise you'll be running at your monitor refresh rate
fps_max (max frame rate)

A lot of you might like to have a quick read over this page.

It has what I'm assuming to be all of the various Launch Commands Steam has to offer.

developer 1 is illegal in 1.6 and always has been...

and 1.6 in dx9 is horrible. Also using all 3 mouse commands gives a quite different feeling. I only use mparms and maccel. Cant stand mspd

A few issues;

1.) There's multiple configuration files.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\r3l4y3r\counter-strike\cstrike
>config.cfg

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\r3l4y3r\counter-strike\valve
>config.cfg

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\r3l4y3r\counter-strike\valve
>autoexec.cfg

Where exactly does it collect and store user changed settings?
