hey,

lately when it's been hot and humid, i've been having a problem with my mousepad. it's a puretrak talent, and it basically absorbs condensation. it's fine in winter, but at times like this when it's real ****in humid, it takes a good 45 minutes to an hour for the mousepad to be any use at all ingame, it just gets sticky and slow. i've had a quick google and the only similar thing i can find is condensation due to hands resting on pads. so, i have a few questions;

could i get a fan and use it to rotate the air in the room before i go on the pc (would this stop the problem?)

would a hard mat be better, if so, which? i've been told that the steelseries sx is pretty fast ("you sneeze and your mouse glides away from you", but i've also been looking around at func archetypes, mionix propus 380, c4 ngen04 (but apparently this is incredibly fast, "like using ice without the cold", and the artisen hien hard.

which of the above mousepads (or any suggestions that come in) are closest in speed to the talent? i'll be using a deathadder (900 dpi, 39 - 40cm 360) with puretrak's perfectglide feet.

your help is much appreciated

Ive got the steelseries 9HD (hardmat) and i've never had a problem with moisture/condensation/sticky. Mouse also glides like an angel, plus im in qld so it gets 40+ and still no troubles

for details see Steelseries 9HD (Official website)
you can Purchase from Umart

wear those latex gloves that doctors use so if u sweat it will stay in the glove and wont ruin the mousepad.

hmmm high humidity leads to condensation but usually on colder surfaces, so i cant see why its condensing so much on your mousepad.
u could however heat the mousepad maybe by warming a sheet of metal in the oven/microwave (to 50 degrees or something like that) and then placing it under the mousepad. it will warm the pad a hopefully minimize condensation but it might be very uncomfortable. just make sure u dont make it to hot and melt the mat.

what is the actual humidity in your house?
The amount of moisture needed to make a solid weave pad like a talent become damp would definetly start messing with the hardware in your PC

haha, i think i'll stick with buying a hard mat, harder to screw up that way

it's not damp as in i could wring it out like a sponge, it just seems to be on the surface, slowing the mouse down :/

puretraks are the worst skate on the market.

get hyperglides and run them on top of your original skates, not on the bottom of of the mouse like the instructions.

Lantern is right, Puretrak skates aren't the best, they don't even round the edges so it will scrape your mouse pad.
If you were using an IME 3.0 or other Microsoft mouse I would have recommended the mouse feet from Artisan.
