please choose 2v2 ca maps :-/ last season pool was awesome.

they're nice and quick to play on, no one has an advantage, its all about aim and dodging. thats what 2v2 ca should be about.

trinity is much too big, asylum -may- be ok but is still on the big side, dm6 is just plain gay (do you have any idea how campy it gets in competitions :-? )

if you REALLY want a mix of prem/free maps, how about this? has maps which everyone knows and which work well in 2v2 ca.
thunderstruck, evolution, hells gate redux, asylum, hearth
also, electric head is a pretty simple + fun map, and is new, hasn't been played in any QL comps to date. check it out! if it looks good, i propose replacing asylum for electric head =) asylum really is a bit on the big side.

for the record, if its purely my opinion, last seasons map pool was awesome and should be used. the above is just a compromise.

I think the failed success of last season was probably due the the premium map pool. I think using free and fun maps (asylum, hells gate redux, hearth, longest yard, t4, ztn, dm6 etc etc) is the way to go. Maybe there should be a poll on the map pool for this.

imo: these are suited for 2v2 ca of the free maps:
asylum, hearth, hells gate, hells gate redux, forgotten
we played the above in the first 2v2 CA comp run by 4sg.
additionally, "Eviscerated" may also be a good choice, and is played a fair bit on pub servers. maybe replace forgotten? or replace asylum. either way.

edit:
to the moderators/admins, once the map pool is decided, let me know if you want me to quickly youtube a 2v2 ca game for each map. for promotional purposes i guess, and to show the new guys how the maps play out, where to gather, etc.

we dont really use vent for 2v2 ca. i'll write a quick article on the basic idea in a bit.

also, as an aside, me and zlr are withdrawing from the comp. let some of the newer guys have a chance at taking out number 1 :-)

hehe, i just listed that pool a few posts up. its awesome, one of the best pools you can make from non-prem maps imo.

we ran it successfully in the first 4sg comp too. and ive seen many of those maps being used in a few euro 2v2 ca comps.
