I have been doing some testing on the 4v4 ladder to make it more paced and effective. Turbo mode will be to difficult for teams to manage consistantly since teams will only have to give 15mins notice for a challenge. So what i have done is made the ladder mode into fast mode which generally means notice times are halved from original.

The ladder has also changed to a point mode to allow active teams to consistantly move up and down and challenge.

The ladder now also allows you to challenge 3 teams and have 3 active challenges.

This is on trial till it is confirmed suitable and please report any bugs or findings that make this method ineffective.

Ok Point system results in the same situation as Alienware where forfeiting means nothing. So ive changed it to a Elo Rating system:
SPOILER: Click to view

Turbo mode halves times and adds more options to get this going actively each night. So im going to have to drop the option to challnge 3 teams at once. Maybe down to 2 with only 2 active challenges. Still on trial just trying to make this work better than current options.

Ok so if people are interested in getting this actively going you ready up each night which stays active for 15mins and you can instantly challenge or be challenged by another team that is ready. This goes in 15min segments till 9pm for the challenge. Also on top of this you can schedule matches as usual schedule but only 24 hrs notice is needed. So basically you can still schedule weekly matches but if your prepared to go each night you can organise instant matches that are ranked.

Elo rating type of point system will need to be evaluated since it could be glitched.

If people want to test it out and get this going it would be awesome to see this actively working. Otherwise will just turn it back to a default ladder.

DO....NOT....WANT!! Would have been nice if we weren't hijacked with this mode with no notification. We were building a core team for squad rush, now we're just going to have to throw everyone in so we have enough people to play scrims with no notice. Not impressed one bit.

You haven't thought about people that can't sit in front of the computer every night just waiting for a scrim to happen. We have members in BF3 Conquest, BF3 Squad Rush, MW3 and CS:S and other teams, they also work evenings too. This makes it very difficult for them to attend these matches in the current format.

The referenced "4v4 Ladder too slow" I was getting the impression that people weren't liking the idea of it, but here we are with it, no consultation necessary.

Bit more thought and notice would have been nice before implementing. But hey, I guess this is our problem and if the guys can't make it then I'll drop the team from the ladder and we'll just play friendly scrims with other teams for shits and giggles so they can practice.

And no, I work every day and I don't have time to read the forums. (except for now lol)

These modes have not been used in a competitive format for a while and have no guidance on whether they're successful. The ladder is only trialing this new format and if it isn't successful it will be reformed back to before.

In reference to the thread they were referring to the issues with the Alienware ladder and hence the reason for the Elo point system which still penalises for forfeits.

The ready up system in regards to Turbo mode doesn't have to be activated and you can still run the normal ladder way although the challenge times have been halved so teams can have regular games instead of waiting for 48hrs for an inactive team to forfeit.

Once again this mode is on trial to see if it works.

Thanks Syrim, had only played BC2 conquest and squad rush prior to MW3 and BF3 so all of this is new to me. Especially the no attachments - BC2 you could have just about all of them with only a couple of restrictions. I don't see why everyone has a problem with red dots or 4x scopes.

I remember the guys in MW2 or MW3 had a similar thing, is this the same?

I'll have a chat to the boys tonight and see who's interested, I guess it's mostly a case of having enough people available at short notice to play. We only have 6 players in the team at the moment and a few of them play MW3, Black Ops and BF3, so we may have to drop out as there will be just too many scrims each week with the overlapping. Hell it's crazy enough as it is!!!!!

Don't worry, we'll sort our crap out one way or the other LMAO

How does building a core for 4v4 take long. Play scrims, people get better. More scrims/games the faster you get better.

It doesn't have to change the way you play, but if you want you can add more to the roster and play more often. You don't have to play every day to be competitive with an ELO rating system.
