ok so.....................
Case: waste of money, nothing more than a 500r/arc mid, and even thats expensive, it is after all just a box to hold stuff
CPU: i5-2500, he doesnt need a K, doesnt need to OC, and he most certainly does not need the i7
CPU Cooler: single most ******ed cooler ever. yes theyre good, do you need it for sandy, NO.
Mother Board: Asus P8Z68-V, the pro adds nothing extra for general gaming use
PSU: nice psu, overpriced, a strider 850 would be a better choice for the money and give him headroom for dual cards etc later if chose to
HDD: Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200rpm SATAIII HDD
SSD: he does not need a gt, theyre ******* red, who cares.
GPU: single dumbest thing you quoted. a 580 for $200 less, and for a marginal loss of performance is a far better choice, and even then a 570 would do
Ram: retared and too much but whatever
DVD/RW: Sony 24x DVD/RW OEM
Network card: ASUS PCE-N15 WLAN PCI-Express N300
OS: Win7 Home 64bit
Monitor: the **** why, he's spending the money, may as well grab a nice 27" 120hz/IPS panel
KB: Dont be a tight arse, filco
Headphones: May as well get AD900x, xonar stx and a headphone amp for the money he's paying
you wonder why nobody gives 2 shits about what you post, because it flat out ******ed. I know full well i build more overkill stuff than this for customers, but i make damn sure they can afford it, do it properly and arent wasting the money on unnecessary crap.
this guy has a 3k budget, which is high, and that can be good too. he does not however, need to spend almost all of it on a ******* box. He should be putting more money into the peripherals and extras that support the system and the user. In reality, a $1,000 box will do the same job
