I had this problem with a different headset, I just went Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Manage Audio Devices.

Then I messed about with the settings. Changing my headset to default device and my speakers to default communication device.

Same thing happened to me with cs:s ages ago .. Playing around with my audio settings in control panel solved the problem if I remember correctly.

if cod is coming out of the laptop speakers then it's an assignment issue, but are you saying that it won't let you make your headset your default output in control panel, then we must go deeper.

your problem is the IDT drivers, I had the same issue with my Siberia v2s, I ended up having to get a 3.5mm to usb converter so that i could set my head phones as the default device, otherwise it wouldn't let me change it, so i had battlefield coming out of my Laptop speakers and TS/Vent coming out of my headphones. I tried everything, using the USB converter was the only thing that fixed it.

Want to explain why its a nope? I had the same issue with my laptop running the same driver as him using the same headphone connection as him, and tried everything like him... I posted what worked for me, so why nope? Unless you can provide a working solution then don't just rule out an idea.

Because it's probably as simple as disabling the speaker itself, instead of buying an adapter that will only make the audio quality through an already compromised headset, worse.
