Hey BF'ers,

Seeing how active the current BF3 Squad Rush 4 v 4 ladders are (we've got off to a pretty decent start) we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to get a fun tournament happening whereby teams can pay to play for some prize money.

It is only early days yet, and the full plans on how we conduct this will be worked out in the next few weeks. For now just seeking expressions of interest from teams.

Probably looking at the first 16 teams to register and pay - however more than happy to expand this outwards should we have the numbers.

Cost?

We are estimating around $20 for each 4 man team (works out to $5 each player, so pretty easy sell) are our initial thoughts.

Should we get minimum of 16 teams x $20 = $320 prize pool minimum.

Distributed across 1st, 2nd, 3rd placings

To pay, users would have to go thru the cg payment portal and all the money is put into cg's paypal account then later dispersed from there too. Our thoughts are just to keep it light and not too expensive to begin with...

Should this be a successful and fun event - then at the completion of Season 1 ladders whereby teams have balanced out and more experienced we may very well take it a step further and conduct another P2P based on ladder standings, with teams aligned at varying levels.

NB: - This is NOT the official announcement just an expression of interest, we will flesh this out in more detail over the next couple of weeks, including round robin & finals format

For those teams who would be interested please indicate below -

Hahahaha yeah read again lads...I edited that part after posting....geez your quick

No its $20 per team (4 players per team = $5 per player) however payment must be made in full, cant do partial payments each. I'm sure most captains can spring $20 for their team or work out some way internally how they wish to pay. From CG's end we can't be chasing $5 here and there

Try and spread the word between your clan and others you know, would be good if you could spread the word among the Aussie servers.

I think this is a very good idea and would work but there are tournaments around Australia for Battlefield with Prize Money on offer where entry is free.

Yes there is, but they decided to alienate 3 quarters of the gaming community, not just on BF but across other titles.

Having played in a few Free to play comps and more Pay to play, I would without a doubt say pay to play is better as it:

Makes teams commit more time and effort as it is their own money on the line, which means less teams forfeiting matches and following the rules as not to be disqualified.

It also gets teams prepared for future comps such as "Leagues".
