Hey everyone, thought I'd also chuck this thread up here in the XBOX section also since I'm fairly sure there are people who play XBOX and also go to Uni

About to start my second year of studying IT (mostly programming) at uni and I have ultimately decided to pick up a netbook to take down lecture notes and also use IDE's for Java n shit if all uni PC's are in use.

I currently have an amazing home PC and laptop that will do anything, but my laptop is really bulky and heavy with only around 1.5 hrs of battery life and I can't be bothered lugging it around nearly every day next year and having to need to constantly charge it.

I have been looking to get the Transformer Prime now for around 6 months, but I've come to realise that at the end of the day it won't really be worth my money as I just want a netbook that will run Office (will be using OneNote and Dropbox to record and organise all my lecture notes).

Can anybody recommend a netbook that would be useful for uni with a decent sized resolution (pref larger reso than 1024x??? and long battery life?)

Would prefer as cheap as possible, and if I can buy it from MYER that would be a HUGE plus.

Was looking at this one but could do a bit better..

I have a toshi, and its okay, but I don't really recommend them, I found it hard to work on it in year 9, so I don't know how you would go. The size of the screen reduces the functionality of many websites, maybe just for using word to take notes, but I personally don't like doing any sort of school work on mine.

In saying that. My sister has one and that got her through most of year 12.
Maybe look at a light, but still decent sized laptop?

If your definitely going for a net book, just look at a screen size to price ratio, they all use the same atom processors pretty much, so there wont be much difference in performance.
