Over the last two weeks or so I have had a discussion thread in the admin section going. I have refined a bit of it thanks to the help Samson, hektik and JOSH.

Please note as you read the article, that the concept is still high level and the ideas in it are just that. They need interest from both players, teams, and organisations.
There is a lot of elements that require feedback, and this is why it has been published. We want your feedback. We want to know what you think. When you are looking at the concepts though, don't just look at the small things, look at the bigger picture and how this could change what we are doing.

The concept is here:
www.arseynimz.com/semi-professional-gaming-a-concept-or-a-dream/

Please post your comments here or on my blog page, but please keep everything on topic. Discuss...... KGO!

Coach and play dude. Although that was in itself a point we discussed also! Some were in favour of coaches, others players, while there is also the option of the player doing both as an option.

Looks good and hopefully will maybe encourage even more teams to get into cod4 The funds are also suitable and should be great to get some pro players to help out in the community

Interesting tournament idea. It would boost the skill level higher and quicker, but however it does seem that a lot of top players from both Meka/Fray, are unbelievably ignorant.. It would be interesting to see if they would take part in this sort of stuff.

I'd like to think that coaching comes as the first preference over playing. Playing with a team means you have to get rid of one of their players which means they learn nothing as a team. (Well they would still learn something lol) It's better to progress as a team than having a pro player play for them throughout a competition and leave after it.
I'm sure you get what I mean.

It sounds like a fantastic idea, it's just going to depend on both the teams and the coaches motivation to learn/teach. Not to mention, whether you could even convince the pro players to do such a thing. Though, I've no doubt there would be a few that are interested in it and there already is one CGi player that I know of doing this. I'm sure the prize money would catch their eye too . Oh, and having a CGi/CGm player carrying you won't improve a team much, as denied mentioned.

I like this idea. Would be KEEN to offer what I know to player ( Moonunit & Dragon know this from Respawn ) But don't know how many player would like to get instruction off curtain players in the Community

Just lol. Im already coaching a team ;>

But yes id be interested in something like this, coaching and/or managing but not playing. The problem is going to be a bunch of players will try and teach lower tier team strats and the like but they will never learn how to become a good player. They may learn to how do something extremely well, rush a certain spot... however that doesn't mean that that player has really improved at all.. If this was to happen, the very top tier of players would have to be coaching etc

I see this as a great idea, playing really shouldn't be where it is at but like many have mentioned already should be coaching/managing the team to help there core better. In saying nick is also right about the strats and etc, but in theory a good upcoming team will take advantage of said player coaching/managing, and will practice alot to help themselves improve as a team and also grow in skill level.

coaches need to just be spectating their team, giving them constructive and sometimes harsh criticism, the learning curve is significantly reduced by having someone to guide you in all the ins and outs (also it creates some rivalry between coaches, which would be amazing )

Is a great team for people to start playing at the moment tbh, lots of nice competitions. really active people scrimming all the time.
