Is this thing an absolute necessity to be able to play at a highly competitive level on xbox?

I used the search feature on the site and found a few threads mainly people posting if they use it but is it a "must have"?

I am a PC player coming to xbox purely because it seems like all the newer fps games are being made for use on a console as opposed to being used on a PC.

I played pub yesterday and it could be that i'm just shit right now because I have barely ever used an xbox controller but then again, it could be that I was being outgunned by players with a much more convenient setup.

I am also from pc a while ago. I use adapters for ps3 and xbox and have been every sinse. I use a max shooter purely because they are cheap. But the xim3 are definatly the way to go to get the best experience

I doubt any high tier player actually uses an adapter for mouse and keyboard, not sure if they are usable at LAN either.

It's legal on microsoft's end, I have read in another forum a user emailed in to see how legit this was.

The only thing they said is they recommend using official controller's for maximum enjoyment and all the rest of it. I also thing warranty becomes void should the xim 3 do any internal damage but I am yet to see a bad review on it.

I am gonna get one.
