As title says, control key isn't working, but only in cod4. Only began happening within the last week. Any ideas fixes? Working fine otherwise.

It can't just not work in CoD4.

Bind it to an action and it might work

Try a different keyboard?

Check if the key is bound?

Try a full controls reset.

/bind ctrl quit


see if that works

What type of keyboard is it? logishittech? bluntrazer?
Give us a tad more info and someone will be able to help you!

- have you installed a program (stops the action of the key once pressed) or changed a setting thru your drivers?
- have you unbound the key thru the config?

The key doesn't work at all in game. Whether I bind it through console or the control menu, it doesn't detect. It is still bound, first thing I checked.


Different keyboard didn't work, key is bound, control reset didn't work.

Key is still bound. The last 3 programs installed were all games and that's been all since January 24th (and it was working then.) Keyboard drivers haven't been touched for awhile, but are up to date.

You've probly set the key to somrthing else like um... alt haha my mouse does the same thing i have a button on there that is control and my keyboard one is unbound might wan't to look into your keyboards controll panel to see.

Thing is, even if I go into the control menu, the key doesn't work whatsoever. Every other key does except for control. /bind doesn't work either. Basically it's as if the key has been disabled entirely, but only whilst in cod.

Also, I just checked, and MW3 doesn't recognise it either. All the other games I've tried recognise it.

If you're running a third party voIP program (which I highly doubt you would have it set to control for cod4) this could sometimes disable the key in-game (happens to some people when I use mumble, dunno for vent or teamspeak).

Also try another keyboard and see what happens to make sure it's not something to do with the logitech software binding

I get this for "i" ingame in cod4 and xfire whilst ingame ._.

if you have drivers for it, reinstall that was my issue.

Try a different config.
If it doesn't work, try a different mod.
If that doesn't work, reinstall CoD.
Mine used to do that with the "D" key.
"D" key would just stop working in CoD and in Xfire in-game which was annoying as ****, but after deleting the config, trying different mods, keyboards, reinstalling keyboard firmware and software, I just got sick of the crap and reinstalled CoD.
