once again me being a complete noob to the internet has landed me in strife.

i torrented a program. As i was installing it came up with a thing called 'babylon' which asked to be installed as a toolbar and homepage. I cancelled the install, however i had adds popping up on my facebook (which obviously aren't your usual facebook adds).

i uninstalled the program from my computer, however i still have these adds popping up.

Is this harmful and how do i get rid of it?

inb4l2internet

thanks for help in advance.

It's looks like a virus and will more than likely require a format.

Edit: Got an anti virus? Run a full scan.

Just run a trial version of Malware Bytes, it will destroy anything that is comes across. I use this for commercial IT and never have any issues removing viruses.

Format = clean your harddrive completely, full delete.
Then you have to reinstall the operating system and drivers

Just restore your computer to a point before you had the virus. Problem solved.
