Hello everybody
The Black Ops admins are proud to announce Season 3 of the Black Ops ladder!
To this end we shall run a relatively short season (12 weeks) with constant updates and changes to both the mod and the ruleset throughout. Expect the mod/rules to be updated multiple times mid-season, and (after internal testing between community and admins), we will roll this out to the CG servers. By the end of the season, we aim to have a perfect mod/ruleset that we can use as the base of the competitive Black Ops scene for many seasons to come.
We will also be using this opportunity to test different anti-cheat mechanisms and will put those into play as well.
However, In order to keep things interesting we will be running a ODC and SoO aswell. The first will be SoO around 4 weeks in, then we will hold a ODC which we intend (if all goes to plan) to have prizes.
We ask that the teams who have begun to show interest in Black Ops stay on through this season, to give us their input and feedback on the competition and ruleset as we go along. Threads will pop up along the way in which opinions/contributions will be asked for.
Season 3 breakdown-
Ideally, this schedule is what we want to stick to, but as we all know, things may change slightly during the course of the season.
Season 3 start 15th Feb
Blops State of Origin begins 18th March
One Day Comp 5th April
Season 3 finals commence 3rd May
Once again in season 3, top 8/rosters will be locked
2 weeks before the season 3 finals begin. This will be extremely strict this time around and no exceptions will be given.
Dead rounds will be brought into season 3.
Time outs will be brought into season 3, aswell as half-time ready up.
kProMod 3 will be used for season 3.
MR6/MR12 is still in discussion - we expect it might change throughout the course of the season to trial how it runs with Blops. For the first 3 - 4 weeks we will be trialing MR12.
More on the SoO will be released shortly, as we are currently drafting it up and seeking opinions/suggestions. If you do have suggestions your best bet would be to contact Holey. CGi/m/a leagues are still very much an aim for blops, but in order for this to happen we need this short season with tweaks and polishing to have a perfect product for league use.
A big thanks to all the teams that competed in Season 2, and a big shoutout to Koil for all his work with the mod, without it the Black Ops scene would be dead by now.
We hope you all enjoy this season and the fruits to come!
