Probably not the best time to ask being so it's 12:25AM - 3:25AM across AUS. The registered teams thus far can be found: http://www.aclpro.com.au/2012/events/sydney/acl-sydney-gears3-rego More are yet to sign up so we'll have to wait and see over the coming month.

More people are expected to sign up over the next couple of weeks like everyone else has said.
Are you making the trip over Reece?

Yeah being the first Gears event for 5 years in Australia i'd expect to see anywhere between 8 - 12 teams. Which i think will be very achievable, any more would be spectacular.

Hopefully we can get some international teams as well

If we don't get an invite to hypefestation, who knows, but there would have a to be 20+ teams at least with a good prize pool.

my advice would be to start advertising your forum more, if you want to look at our forum for any ideas http://gowforum.net/index.php

Our community has tripled in that last 2 months.

P.s i love your accents

You would definitely lose money even if you won (first place would probs be between $500-$1000) and the standard of competition would be lower then what you are used to due the smaller community and less serious competitive scene.

It would be nice to see you guys make the trip but i honestly can't say it's worth it for you, at this point in aus gow competitive anyway.

It will be awesome to have a international team come out and I think everyone would agree on this.
Also I think it will help the GOW community as a whole imo.

When do you know if you have been invited to Hypefestation Reece?

Based on the people that I have spoken to from various teams I'm expecting 8-12 to show up. This is the first major gears LAN since 2007 so this will be an interesting one. Once the community see show well the event goes I'm sure we'll see some growth for the next LAN.

I've been talking to loco about this and would love to chat to you separately on Skype Reece. I Messaged you here with my details and if not loco has me added.
