With the recent mass hysteria and unprecedented excitement caused by the release of what is indisputably the most anticipated game of 2009, I know everyone's been a little busy and had a lot on their plate.

But it's fast-approaching time when we, the community, must look towards the competitive future of this groundbreaking first person experience.

Can any of the ladder admins give some sort of rough time estimate of when we'll have a MW2 ladder setup on CG? I'm surprised I wasn't able to pre-order a spot on the ladder, but now that the game has been unleashed and everyone's talking about buying it, I'm sure Season 1 of MW2 will have some furious competition we can all look forward to!

From what my mates have said, playing online is fine...

All my mates have gotten pings of under 70. The only problem now i guess is that you wont be able to make CEVO and stuff for it.

I've just heard from a few people that the SP is really really good, with a great story, and Co op is really really fun too. I'm buying it today.

I'm surprised to be sensing a bit of unexpected negativity here. There seems to be a small minority of gamers (thankfully not the professional ones) who seem intent on pushing their own private agendas. It's disgusting that a proud and widely respected community such as CG has very recently been plagued by such Negative Nancy's.

The undisputed fact is that MW2 is an impact game and ya'll aint got shit on it. Some of those among you who are misinformed think that having no dedicated server support is a bad thing. Nothing could be further from the truth.


IW has actually done us a favour by removing dedicated server support. How about a nice "thank you" instead? IW has said time and time again that MW2 will be a great game and based on their previous track record of churning out highly competitive games (e.g. COD4 - 7 seasons and still going strong / more competitive now than ever) I think it's safe to say we can just take their word for it and buy the game / pre-order.
