I like to hear some discussion regarding the maps.

Please keep it constructive and talk specifically about how each map is suitable or unsuitable for different gametypes.

Particularly S&D and TDM to begin with as these ladders will be put up first.

But Id also like to see feedback for other gametypes as it seems MW2 may be more suitable for something fresh.

Map List:
* Afghan - Medium sized open desert. Intense Demolition battles.

* Derail - Trainwreck in a large snowy area. Epic large battles.

* Estate - Cabin in the woods. Fight for control of the cabin.

* Favela - Alleyways of Brazil. Great for all game modes and all sizes.

* Highrise - Rooftop skyscraper. Hectic Domination games.

* Invasion - City in the desert. Classis street to street firefights.

* Karachi - Ravaged desert town. Tactical street fights abound.

* Quarry - Medium-sized quarry. Intense Capture the Flag matches.

* Rundown - Village in Brazil. Fight from all angles.

* Rust - Tiny desert sandstorm. Fast-paced action on a small map.

* Scrapyard - Small airplane gravelyard. Great for any number of players.

* Skidrow - Urban city fighting. In and out of apartments close range engagements.

* Sub Base - Snowy submarine base. Great vertical gameplay.

* Terminal - Medium sized airport. Great for all game modes.

* Underpass - Rainy underpass. Good balance of medium to long range fighting.

* Wasteland - Chernobyl in the open. Great for snipers and long range fighters.

On S&D The attack should be were the defenders start, but we can't change that

And I like all the maps. S&D on Karachi is the greatest!

SND maps

Afghan is a good SND map lots of options and 3 major choke points which are fairly balanced with a solid attack and defence.

Derail is a shocking map its way to big and hard to find people on with way to many places to watch the bombs from.

Estate is a terible map also, way to big and stupidly hard to see people and sooooo easy to defend if u just lie in ******* stupid spots or just camp inside the house.

Favela is a good snd map with lots of options.

Highrise im not so sure about a few test scrims could see whether it is good competitively or not.

Cant think of which one invasion is exactly but im 99% sure its one of the smaller maps and thus is good for SND.

Karachi is similar to invasion.

Quarry is basically the pipeline of MW2 way to big and waaay to many places to go that can easy be stopped by watching from a few spots in defence spawn.

Rundown is a good SND map.

Rust, just no.

Scrapyard would be a joke of an SND map, can you say spawn killed?

Skidrow- good map.

Sub base i can see being either a great snd map or a complete fail.

Everyone seems to like terminal so im sure it will be in but i find it hard to leave ******* spawn.

Underpass could possibly work for SND with lots of rush options available but im not 100% convinced, could be the overgrown of MW2.

If wasteland is the one from cod2 that theyve remade then no way it is a shocking map.

IMO Wasteland and Afghan shouldnt be in any ladders at all. To open, just becomes a sniping fest.

For snd, sub base, terminal and quarry are prob the best.

Quarry is a great map coz there are a lot of angles you need to watch which makes for intense gaming.

Sub base is a great map. Very big (for snd) and has a lot of corners. Will make for some great defence.

Terminal will be a good map for snd because it is kinda like overgrown. One of the plant sites is in the airplane so will be hard to plant. Kinda like A bomb on overgrown. Easy to defend, but with a good attacking team will make for some great pushes to it. I like the idea of that.

They are my favourite IMO.

you have to remember though that just because you like them in PUB doesnt mean theyll be good competitively. All of the big maps (estate, quarry, derail) would be pretty shocking for 5v5. They are just not built for SND. The smaller maps on this game are actually awesome for SND. I personally dont think terminal will be a good competitive map purely because of how uneven the bombs are between attack and defence spawn. Its a good map for pub when most people are pushing up but when its a match and none of the good teams will contest it will turn out being like the old crash with 12-0 11-1 10-2 scorelines. Mainly because there are only 3 choke points one of which is a small doorway that can be watched from so many invisible places.

I disagree anchor, I think terminal is a great map. On attack, after the spawn there are 3 directions you can go, you can rush into the plane, you can go into the book shop or you can go into that corner where the little bar is. You can even rush straight onto the runway. I think with smokes and proper strats you can make some good pushes onto bombsites. Reminds me of Overgrown, some good strats are needed against a good defense.

As for Quarry, There are multiple ways to go when defending and attacking. High or low. Again, a good path and smokes can make for some great gameplay. The B Bomb is in a building close to the defense's spawn. so will be pretty evenly matched.
