Quote:
Avast's official forums are currently being crushed by the sudden onslaught of traffic created by confused users, many of whom are being told that generic program files are a security threat. Impacted users should uninstall the program or disable the file shield functionality of the application until a fix is issued, lest they delete necessary files on the advice of an anti-virus program gone mad. Avast, which just celebrated the addition of its 100,000,000th user, is in for a very busy night.

Needless to say, your copy of Microsoft Paint is not a virus, regardless of what Avast is currently telling you.

In other words if you are running avast and it brings up a file is a virus be careful before deleting it, at most move it to the chest until the problem is fixed. I just had a Flac codec flagged.

seriously don't understand why home users have antivirus running at all, should only need to run antivirus if your a clicker who has nfi and allows anything that asks to run.

Your Kidding me right?

Here is a stat for you, when you install a new fresh copy of windows it can take only 16 minutes for you pc to get infected and that's not even doing anything thats just being online idle.

Every PC when online needs a Good antivirus program and a good Firewall program to prevent and stop attacks.

And these days nearly everyone has run an illegal program on there pc ( eg keygen ) to get a serial number the keygen alone can execute harmful shit.

And Rohan.? I run Kaspersky Internet Security on my home Computers with this package you have antivirus and a firewall program all in one also the spam email extra stuff.

Good thing about it is that you can configure it to your needs and its not hungry on resources at all.
Ban thing about is nothing

There help desk is awsome also try there Beta release to get a taste of it

Imo its up there with the best
