seriously don't understand why home users have antivirus running at all, should only need to run antivirus if your a clicker who has nfi and allows anything that asks to run.

If you don't understand you shouldn't be using a PC. Refer to trances post he summed it up pretty well.

lol 16 minutes

i haven't run antivirus for last 10 years, where are my viruses?

lol @ antiviruses thinkin everything from cod6 to mspaint being a virus.

try using windows firewall, a router and having a clue about the interent, you shouldn't get viruses at all.

Thats like saying I don't need to wear a seatbelt because im a safe and careful driver, you can't control everything on the net. 95% of the time its not needed but your better safe than sorry, you are just asking for trouble not using one. Today they use very little resources and most will run in the background/screensaver or on schedule with auto updates meaning you have to do nothing.

Yes Avast screwed up with an update, how many programs havent had an error from time to time.

Thats why people get payed 100 k a year to build and maintain servers etc and to keep them safe from unwanted parasites

I guess what you are saying we dont need people like this and that we need is to be careful what we click on I will pass that on to the IT people that i know.

Mind you not everything in this world is as what it seems to be

What you mentioned is a good start but you also need the added security that also depends how smart you are.
