I am capped and i need to have my vent running at the same time as CoD. Is there any way to change rates, vent quality, or anything so I can be on vent without being dropped ingame?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

*Edit, I have already tried to get additional data blocks, however my provider is quite horrid and doesnt offer anything.

Hmm...i guess you can see if either of these solutions help:

Find an old ventrilo server (it uses much less bandwidth) and get everyone to use that vent for your war tonight.
Try TeamSpeak. I have no idea if it uses less bandwidth or not, but it's worth a shot

When Frantic's internet provider was being gay, he couldn't play and be on vent at the same time..except when he was on a 2.1.4 ventrilo server. Try it out, it just might work.

about all you can do is drop your maxpackets right down and your rate.. even though rate is probably locked for competitive play.. other than that.. just tell people to not spam vent.

We had the same thing with rou on our vent a while back for a match, so he altered one of the channels in vent to use less bandwidth and we all went in it, the quality was crap but he could be on it and cod at same time. Dont know how you do it just know you can.

just get a vent server admin to lower the codec on a channel, thats all we do when someone is capped.

whenever i am capped or anyone else is (who i have seen), i set the codec in my vent from 32kbps 10qlty. to 16kbps 5qlty. cg vent is horrid when capped :/

its pretty hard to play and be on vent with promod because it forces rate 25000, with CG / CGeuro it was possible to lower the codec and set your rate to 20000 and put your fps and maxpackets down (less bandwidth), but now you still lag out at the end of rounds when theres talking.
