The teams have qualified, and the final run to LAN begins!!!!!!

There will be an email going out with a host of information to the teams which mostly reiterates the below, but given there may be team changes needed, this is a good space to post the key details.

Pre-Event
  • All teams must be advised to admin@gearupforbattle.com by Sunday 22nd July at 11:59pm AEST. These teams will be the LAN finals teams, and are unable to be changed following this date unless exceptional circumstances arise which must be communicated to the admins and discussed.
  • Teams may make changes as per the rules of up to 2 players for their LAN final team from the original online qualifier core.
  • All Invite teams will advise their LAN final teams by the same Sunday 22nd July at 11:59pm AEST deadline, or the team from the Melbourne event will be assumed as the team to play on Sunday 29th July.

You can head to CityHunter Chinatown on Thursday or Friday before the event, and inform the manager that you are part of the NVIDIA Tournament to receive the special of 8 hours for the price of 4 at the LAN cafe.

  • In the event of a 15-15 score at full time, an overtime period will be played under traditional mr3 conditions. Promod mode of knockout_lan_mr3 will be used.
  • Teams will knife for sides only at the start of each round robin match.
  • The top two teams from each pool will be the qualifier finalists. This will be based on the following criteria:

    1. Win/Loss record
    2. Rounds won/lost ratio
    3. In the event the above two scenarios can not resolve the top two teams, the finalist will be determined based on who beat who in the round robin match.

  • In the event of a 15-15 score at full time, an overtime period will be played under traditional mr3 conditions. Promod mode of knockout_lan_mr3 will be used.

Final Series - both days

  • Matches will be played under the rules as above for promod modes.
  • Matches will be best of 3 map finals.
  • The first knife round will be for choice of map or hand over to opposition to choose map.
  • The team who did not choose the map will choose the side.
  • In the event a third map is needed, teams will knock out the remaining maps by veto. The winner of the knife round will choose the first map to knock out, the loser of the knife round will then choose the next map to knock out, and then the winner will in turn choose the map to be played. Teams will knife for sides on the third map.

Miscellaneous
  • In the interest of keeping the event on time, we have scheduled a one hour break at 1pm each day. This will be the only break of the day, and it is not expected any other breaks will be allowed EXCEPT for a small 15 minute break before the final series on each day. Please ensure your team is prepared for this.
  • Any delays of game will be penalised with round points at the discretion of the admin team - please do not be late to your matches, and do not delay the event.
  • Video and photos will be taken at all times throughout the event. By attending the event you recognise that your photo will be taken or video footage will be recorded and used for various purposes (marketing, advertising of the event, and similar activity).
  • Please be aware that the matches will be broadcast on Twitch.tv, minimal delay will be present on the stream, and various TV's will be showing the match throughout the venue on the day. If a player is seen to be "screen cheating off these streams, a punishment suitable will be enforced - if you can see a TV from your position at the event, then inform an admin before a match begins or at the first instance you are aware you can see the stream.
  • If the shoutcasting team is in broadcasting a match, they will in all instances govern the time the match runs, and when they do and do not ready up. Please refrain from spamming them to ready up as they may be under instruction, or performing event obligations (sponsor and related activity).

Lastly, if you have any other question, please post them up, else, good luck and have fun - see you next weekend! For those wishing to come spectate, there will be prizes for those who come along and aren't playing - with the possibility you too could take home an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 from ASUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's good to see that the best teams did end up going through in the end. Should make a really heated and intense LAN :-)
