Status update on AA 2.3 comp?

Hey

Have been reading some of the different threads and talking to a few people, am trying to figure out what needs to be done to get everything underway.

From what I can gather the servers work well enough on this version, and using previous accounts from later versions of AA works fine.. but Auth is still on in the servers.. is this the last problem before the comp starts?

I think Go-Cat is on this one, why can't Auth be switched off? what happens when you try?
Is there anything else holding up the comp? can we get around not having Auth removed?

When I join it says ''pb and auth somethingsomethingsomething'' So maybe if auth is turned it means pb might be turned off aswell? And now im getting kicked when joining the AAF server, sorry marksman :S

Yeah PB banned us for 1 minute after i got a critical error. Its fine now though. The server seems good except for crits and that random "Error:Uknown" garbage that stops your game and takes you into the menu.

both of those problems are on mine and bensaki's pc dont know about anyone else. We get a critical error at the end of the tourney (mapchange i believe). here it is:

default password for CG server is most likely the word 'fun'.
hmmm I guess thats a bug with tourney mode the admins need to look itno

I change the torny server last night to rotate maps, this probably caused the bug. I've not seen this done before and thought I would give it a go..

The normal map rotation ini works fine..

I'm going to set up another server one for torny I for normal play..

I have logged into the CG Server and doesnt work ATM.. Its also in Auth Mode.. Game doesnt start

It is buggy - I guess after this we may go to 2.6 / 2.7 any version after that is pretty much the same as v2.8.5.

because 2.3 was the last version before they ****ed the game up.
1. nades can be thrown further.
2. you can bunny hop
3. prone shoot
4. quick swap weapons
5. run shoot
6. no crouch delay
etc list goes on

lol You consider run shooting as a feature? Oh and u missed the fact that they changed to a new engine in aa 2.4 and ****ed up the detail textures. The only thing I don't like about 2.3 is not being able to stand or crouch in ironsights without losing them. Anyone know how to fix that by any chance?
