For the average car you upgrade and tune for racing what do you upgrade first and why? I'm getting into tuning my cars now and have gotten some advice from a tuner or two and wanting to hear from other experienced tuners. So what do you consider the higher priority parts when upgrading a car which you plan to tune?

Currently I'm buying tires/width > weight reduction > transmission/clutch parts > engine/conversion parts.

it depends on the track if its high speed youl need more power upgrades. if its tight and technical youl need handling if its a combination of all youl need to try and find a balance between speed + handling.

also depends on your style of driving. i dont see the point of letting someone else tune your car because they tune it to thier abilities not yours.

Yeah makes sense Blink. I suppose I'd be worth upgrading a few different cars for different style tracks in each class. Most of the cars I've tuned (with a lot of help from Chemikal) seem to be suited for tight and technical tracks...

Any general hints and tips you can give to a budding tuner?

once youve got ur car upgraded to suit the track make 1 or 2 adjustment to your tune at a time so you will gradually fine tune ur car into a quick qualifying or race car. this will also help you because if you tune evrything at once and your car is handling bad you wont know where you went wrong.

also if you want to learn about individual parts read the parts info in the tuning options. once you know what each part does you can slowly tune them all to suit your track and style.

Lots of power and torque, tune it for acceleration and over-steer. Just my guess. I don't drift. Also RWD would help.

Yes gomer... RWD does tend to help when trying to drift. Haha. But on topic... Drift settings are more of your settings Test n Tune is the best way to go... See what you can pull... No one can do it for you, We all have different styles.

It all depends on the track, less corners, long straights you want long gears, lots of corners few straights you want shorter gears.
I haven't bothered with any tuning yet apart from my ken block drift car =)
