I'm debating whether or not to buy a PS3, I have little knowledge about the console but I do know that I want to play Uncharted 2, MGS4, KZ2 and LBP more than anything seeing as MW2 is a piece of shit.

I don't want to spend $500 on a Slim model, I'd much prefer buying a 40gb or 60gb model and I have seen 40gb models go for under $300 on ebay.

My main questions are as follows:

1. What are the chances of a 40gb preowned model dying?
2. Are there any key differences between the early models and the Slim model, apart from size and memory?
3. Will I need more than 40gb?

Thanks.

Is that all? How does it affect the console?

pretty sure 40 gigs dont have a problem and they fill up like a mother******, once u install the game (good games are 2gb+ and patch up) a game can get about 5gb AT most and then u save and stuff, ANYWAY on topic i own a 40gb old model and ive never had it break or ANY problems, my HDD has never corrupted but does constantly fill up needing me to remove games ive burrowed and so on but u can choose to delete the game file and not the save file, so you can still load just have to re install the game.

Only reason you would need more than 40 gig is if your planning on putting all your music/movies on it otherwise 40gig should be plenty.
