Easy Anti Cheat, or EAC will be used for All League and MEGA Comp matches. Open Ladder will be changing to EAC after the finals at the end of Feb. Read more on CGo updates here.

Easy Anti Cheat lives up to its name, it really is very easy! Bellow is the step by step process for you to follow to get it up and running correctly.

  1. Download the EAC Client. Click the Teddy

  2. Move this file to your desktop. This is the only file EAC has, there is no installation! So easy

  3. Run EAC in Administrator Mode. Make sure you are also running STEAM in Administrator Mode.

  4. Double click the EAC client . Make sure you read the DISCLAIMER at least once! Do not just click yes

  5. In the server window list, scroll down towards the bottom and select "CyberGamer.com.au"

  6. Wait 30seconds to allow EAC to contact CG servers properly

  7. Load your game and wait 30seconds at the main menu

  8. Join the server as normal

  9. EAC will auto tag your steam ID and Game name when you join the server

  10. Steam friends will not work with EAC. If you alt tab to use steam friends, you run the risk of having the steam friends overlay stuck over your game until you restart both EAC and CSS, or even your PC.

  11. If you have not done the above properly, you will be kicked in about 30 seconds.

  12. Play your match as you normally would.

  13. When you exit the game, close EAC.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Note: Steam friends will not work once you join a server.

Note: You cannot stay in the server unless EAC is running.

Note: EAC MAY NOT WORK with xp64. xp64 does not support 32bit native rollback. Vista and Windows7 do, so it works fine. There is no official support for xp64.

Note: EAC will NOT allow you to play if you have any VAC bans from other games(1.6, TF2 etc etc) which are applied to your steam account.

See below for a more in-depth guide on how to use EAC client.

Important Notes from the EAC DISCLAIMER
Quote from EAC Disclaimer:

  • EAC is not compatible with other AC's. Use two at the same time at your own risk

  • EAC takes Screenshots viewable by anyone. Ensure you only Run EAC just before you load your game and close it when your game is finished. EAC or CyberGamer take no responsibility for sensitive information captured outside of the game screen.

  • EAC will re-route DNS records for unofficial domains to protect against phishing
.

Trouble Shooting Tips

21/03/10 NEW PATCH: If you are experiencing EAC issues from the last patch, try running STEAM in admin mode - How to run STEAM in Admin mode.

Some users are finding that their AV is screwing with EAC when it was fine last week. To fix this, delete all copies of EAC and restart your PC. When it boots up disable your AV and download a fresh copy from the EAC website You can either then enable your AV and re-add this new version to your exclusions/exceptions list, or do it after your match. You *may* not need to reboot your pc to do this. Try it if u like.

We have also received word that there is a guide for some of our Windows XP users out there still experiencing issues. This shows you how to run EAC in admin mode for xp. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305780

EAC faq.

Most problems we help troubleshoot are related to Anti Virus issues. Problems:

  • EAC will not download
  • EAC downloads but the file size is 0kb and will not run
  • EAC downloads but it will not run or causes and error
  • EAC is flagged by my Anti-Virus

For any of the above problems, we recommend you disable your Anit-Virus temporarily, then download the EAC file. Once your download is completed, start up your Anti-Virus again, and then add it to your AV's "File Exceptions" List. This will stop your AV acting on the EAC file when you try to Run, Download or Update.

We are compiling specific AV assistance in the third (3rd) post in this thread. Also see that.

Update Loop - (will be fixed in the next patch)
The only other issue we experience that is not AV related is an update loop. If you experience this update loop there are a few options you can try.

View hidden files, and look for "eac_updater" application. (If you run EAC from your desktop, the hidden updater file will be on your desktop as well). Run this file, and it should update.

Only a few people that have different access settings for ftp connections have the problem, which means chances are your team mates have a working version. Get them to send their updated copy to you.

Remove your Temporary files (offline files). You can do this by going to Tools > Options > 'Clear Offline Files' (possibly in advanced menu depending on your browser) or search your machine for all EAC files and remove them. Once you have done this, try your update again, or re-download a fresh copy from the EAC Website

Firewall
If your EAC program does not show the server list, usually it is because the required ports are being blocked. Free up ports 50300 and 50301

Some Screenshots to make things easier...

    # First thing (once downloaded) is to right click and open as administrator

    # You will get a msg box containing some information about EAC, I recommend you READ IT as it does give you some important info in regard to the program, ie. Not running with any other anticheat software (VAC). After that a window will appear that looks like this.

    # IMPORTANT You need to scroll down list and select 'CYBERGAMER.COM.AU' or you will be kicked from the server.

Alternatively you can can select CyberGamer by right clicking on EAC in the System Tray.

    # After that simply run CSS, I would recommend give CSS 30 secs before you connect to the server so that EAC can integrate. If you are running in window mode a msg will appear in your task bar like this below.

    # After playing css or before joining a VAC secured server CLOSE the program.

If everything is done correctly you should have no problem at all with connectivity. This should really level the playing field in regard to flushing out the cheaters. However because of the current programming of the zBlock you will recieve a msg warning you that VAC is disabled every round, we have taken steps and got in touch with zblock dev team and changes should be made on the next release.

(Better the quality, clearer the writing will be)

Thanks Guys
Any issues we are happy to field your questions. BOL to all playing in tomorrows mega comp should be a great day.

Specific Anti-Virus Help

If anyone wishes to submit a guide on their AV on how to add EAC to exceptions, it will be appreciated.

First of all, make sure you are running the program as Administrator/Administrator mode as required for vista/win7 users.

Quote from McAfee:

McAfee

This should provides some guidelines for adding exceptions to the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.0i and 8.5i exclusion list. While this is specificly for those versions stated, Most McAfee AV's should be much the same so use this as a guideline.

#Click Start, Programs, Network Associates, VirusScan Console(8.0i)
For 8.5i, click Start, Programs, McAfee, VirusScan Console
#Right-click On-Access Scanner and select Properties.
    #Click All Processes, Detection, Exclusions.
    #Browse to the file: EasyAntiCheat.exe
#Add this file as an exception

Quote from Eset Nod32:

Eset Nod32 4

    #Open Eset control panel.
    #Click "Setup"
#Click "Enter entire advanced setup tree"
#Click "Exclusions" in the navigation pane
#Click "Add" and navigate to the EAC file
#Click "OK" once the file has been selected. Exit and save

so as it stands if your account has a VAC ban against it from another game, you will not be able to join the server.

At this stage, screen shots are only viewable by an admins. We may or may not introduce a system for people to see them.

Main post update:

  • After clicking on CyberGamer servers you must wait 30seconds before loading the game

  • After loading the game, you must wait 30 seconds before joining the server

  • Steam friends will not work with EAC. If you alt tab to use steam friends, you run the risk of having the steam friends overlay stuck over your game until you restart both EAC and CSS, or even your PC.

If you read the disclaimer on program launch the very first step of the information reads

Quote from EAC DISCLAIMER:
1. EasyAntiCheat is not compatible with other anticheat programs, therefore you must not run EasyAntiCheat if you wish to play with any other anticheat at the same time. The user is fully responsible in case his/her game account or cdkey gets banned or refused by the game, EasyAntiCheat or any other anticheat.

I strongly recommend you read the rest of the disclaimer.

As for your question, xray is classified as a anticheat program. Thus meaning you shouldn't run the two at the same time. CyberGamer at no stage will ask you to run the two programs together.

Currently CGo Ladder Matches should be running xray and not EAC.

Thanks
DoS

I'm a fair bit worried about this program taking "out of game" screenshots, is there anyway we can know if this happens?

We haven't seen this happen, we have checked many screenshots. As it is, only Admins are able to see them atm. I personally run 3 monitors, and have accidently left EAC running. Nothing outside of game showed up.

EAC detects when the game is running and then starts the random intervals. I run my CSS in window mode when refereeing a match but still only the game it self is included in the screenshot.

So I would say your pretty safe. But as soon as we come across a screenshot not of the game we will come into contact with that user to find out what they were doing, remove the shot from our servers and pass information to EAC dev team.

As Zior said the only people who can actually see the screenshots are admins.
