hey
got a new modem yesterday (netgear DG834 v4) and whenever i went into a multiplayer game of cod4 it lagged really bad. today it just says 'setting up game'
I havent changed anything else and it worked perfectly fine before which makes me think its something to do with the new modem, maybe some setting or something to do with ports or someshit. the net still works perfectly fine although i have had the net diconnected then reconnected due to a non-payed bill (dont know if this affects anything or not).
Any ideas?
cheers

Set up static ip, then port foward

Setting up a static ip address, just choose your operating system

Doesn't TPG make you force use a static DNS server(s) or something?

I remember reading something about that a while ago.

So could getting a different modem possibly fix this?

Could this have happened due to the internet service being disconnected then reconnected?

possibly if you have another modem to test it out. If it only happens with CoD4 i doubt it has anything to do with the line.

Could be ports/firewall i guess if you havent already done something about that.
