Cheers to all who put the effort in and sent PM's and replies to the topic, its a great indicator of how many contributing members we have. We got votes from 90+ people with over 850 individual nominations to count, making it our biggest awards yet.
Like always votes were spread amongst many nominees, but there were some clear winners in all categories. These results further prove how much the CG polls are skewed to show incorrect results.
However, I wont go on too much and get right into the results you are waiting for.
Best Team:
Our biggest win in the awards history,
Insurgency took it with a massive 58% of the vote. Made up from topic CoD 4 players that have continued to stay near the top for the last few seasons, and step it up for MW2, also has an awesome team biography. The closest challenger was
Malice (14%) who have managed to stay near the top for many years now. It's also fitting that these teams fill our top spots on the S&D ladder also.
Most Underrated Team:
FreQuency. (19%) ranked number 3 on the S&D ladder have surprised a few people, most of their players have been around for a while, but aren't huge names, but have pulled together to now make a name for them selves.
Excel (12%) also received lots of nominations
Worst Team:
There were only a few nominees here,
Antix (32%) took it by many votes. See awards below for why their here, but it has a bit to do with their captain. If they wanna improve their standing in the community, they will need to stay off the forums, relax a little, and earn respect by beating top teams which they can with their talented line up.
Anxiety (18%) was the only other team to receive a more than a handful of votes. Plagued by multiple player bans, repeat disputes and trouble on live has brought them here, hopefully a new name in Game Theory, means a fresh start.
Best Player:
Coming straight out of World at War,
cheese (15%) has taken this award out, building his way up from the most underrated from last years World at War Awards. Coming up behind him was
Fluey /
kritikal' both being tied on 7% of the vote.
Most Underrated Player:
This New Zealander has been around since early CoD4 days and after playing with him in ViraL, it is easy to see why he won this award.
Konyx just grabbed the award with 8% off
kritikal' who already came runner up in the Best Player category and
fergie (YEEEEEAP) both tied on 6%.
Worst Player:
Well no surprises here, and this was unanimous, but
audi0n (30%) was the only one to receive more than a couple of votes. Not necessarily the worst skill wise, but his skill level is not as far ahead as the majority that he thinks he is. I doubt this attitude will ever change and has just pissed too many people off.
Best Admin:
I thought this would have been a lot closer than last time, but all admins received a few votes, but
Rohizle (54%) beat out his partner in crime,
The Duke (20%). They really are working hard to make CG bigger and better and over the coming weeks they will be able to show you some of this, with a few sponsorship deals and site improvements coming together from staff and the communities ideas.
Best Mod:
A lot of votes for a lot of different mods, but
kritikal' (24%) was voted and is our stand out mod. He has been here since the start and been so constantly awesome and on point with his opinion and contributions to the forums, as a poster and a moderator.
Ix Bio Acid xI and
Rohizle were close behind on 13% of votes.
Best Host:
ridicule took this one out with a whopping 28% of the vote.
squishy and
iLexar both came runners up with a tied vote (12%)
You might of seen these guys hosting lots of PUGs or being that silent referee in your game every know and it's common curtsey to thank them for hosting your games with the best possible connection.
PUG Hero:
This was one helluva tie with
fake,
iironik,
ridicule and
Tempo all on 6% of the vote. Overall, these four Pick up gamers have accumulated a total of 421 MW2 PUGs, and that number is still on the rise.
Best Sig:
All the votes were for staff in the GFX section, but it was unanimous for
~dalla. (29%). This is his 3rd straight graphics award, and their is looks to be no stopping him, check out a
recent showcase of his work or stop by the
Graphics and Design Section.
Best Forum Poster:
The category had a few nominees, but
Ix Bio Acid xI (18%) took it from
kritikal' and
Rohizle on 12%.
Funniest Poster:
Who else would get this apart from the infamous
Big Bad Wilson (23%) I'm sure most of you have probably pissed yourself laughing at his posts. If you haven't, he will remind you that Dazed will show you what tough really is.
Runners up was a 3 way tie, each taking up 7% of the vote. That happened to be
Anchor,
cheese and
Ryano
Worst Forum Poster:
No surprises here either,
audi0n (29%) takes another award. Pretty much if a topic is going fine, then he comes along and posts and gets 500+ replies of people raging at him, their is something very wrong. Doesn't understand sarcasm or bait which compounds problems and then internet tough guy shows up rather quickly. Has since made a
retirement apology thread...
Runner up was
croz (11%) who's general spam and suck up posts in many a topic has driven myself and other members to the edge. However he has made a turn and helping out CG a bit more and on his way to becoming a contributing members.
Anyway, congratulations to all the winners and runners up, enjoy your titles. Thanks for voting and look forward to another set of awards in 6 months or so.
Your titles will be organised soon so please be patient. If you have no clue what a title is, it is those little things under your avatar. For example, all referees have a title saying "Referee"
Oh and just to make sure everybody is aware of what is happening. Rohi did most of the write up. I just cleaned up little bits and pieces (so many spelling errors -_-)
