Recently there has been a massive amount of multiple posts for videos... and some of them have been ancient viral videos that the majority would have seen. Here are some steps to take before posting a new video in here to try to minimize the amount of repeat threads:

1. use the search function to try and find out if its previously been posted.
(the search tool is located to the upper right of the CG website sidebar)

2. use a bit of common sense. if a video is made by someone like the lonely island guys and its months old... high chance that its been posted before.

3. also take note of the amount of views on the video... if its got a large amount = most likely seen by many.

4. if you notice people have screen captures from the video as their avatar then again there is a high chance its been seen by most people.

edit: added in superiors point.

Good stuff. The only mistake in which a video that has been posted, is posted again, should only be if it was titled something else and couldn't be found using the search function. That's understandable, but no excuses if it is indeed old (A popular vid from last year and older.)

I reckon if you limit the amount of threads new users can make for the first few months, it would stop alot of the pointless shit clogging up the forums.

Also should add to the rulebook - No posting of vids that have already appeared in RayWilliamJohnson videos...i say this after the video of the little girl being hit by the closet door being posted just before.

Yeah people need to learn how to name their thread something that has something to do with whats in the the like "OMG ROFL" or "OMG MUST WATCH" so the search feature actually works.
