Americas Army 3 Version 3.0.7 Coming Soon, At least 100 bug fixes

Quote:

After four months of concentrated effort by our Redstone Arsenal development team, we are proud to announce the upcoming release of the next version of Americas Army 3. The development of version 3.0.7 has focused very heavily on fixes and includes a few new additions.

This release also focuses on enhancing training missions. Exactly how we should approach updating training was the subject of many debates at the AGP offices. However after polling some community leaders and our own Beta Testers and Community Managers, and understanding that not everyone will agree, we believe we have the best plan in place.

Everyones training will be completely reset to the beginning; however, you will retain all your Honor points and non-training awards and badges. Everyone will be required to retake and complete all training missions. While this may be a minor inconvenience to some, we feel this is the best and most fair way to reactivate the training missions. Were simultaneously issuing three new AA Mission Challenges on the Americas Army YouTube channel to make completing the training missions a little more rewarding.

Even if the game becomes good, it's too late.

Aus gamers are the type that if it isn't near perfect on release, it's not worth playing even if it gets really good later.

wouldnt mind getting back into it, needs more maps more than bug fixes, but found it to be really nice to play with a big focus on aim and team coordination, would happily try to get back into aa3

Or any comp game? I don't think there's been many games come out that are successful in comp from V1.0 ...

Patch 3.0.7 has been released, its weights in at 3.4 gb, it has a shit load of bug fixes, and they have lowered the default max player number (to 18 from 26) and indicate they are trying to fix the lag that happens when the server gets over 12 people in it. the current maps have had alot of bugs fixed so that probably accounts for the large file size, they also mention this
"we anticipate future AA3 updates will include completely new maps"
pretty good news imo, may still have a future

The majority of games that have been successful in e-sports (god I hate using that word) are games that were competitively playable upon release. AA3 was too buggy and not optimised well enough (which made it difficult for many gamers to have stable FPS) on its release, so likely it is too late.

Perhaps with more time when the game has been patched a bit more, a few people will go back and tell everyone how kick ass it is now. Then hopefully the game can finally live.

With the 1.x/2.x series everyone was willing to wait long enough for it to become competitive, but now everyone can't be ****ed to wait any longer with the 3.x series.

Tbh 2.x was about aim, 3.x is about luck and bs.

I'd rather play competition on 1.x than 3.x

I haven't been on lately to see the pings, but as with -s]R[s- server, we had 20 slots and as soon as we hit 20 players the whole server started to go to shit, pings went from on average 20-30 to 40-60.

The game won't be worth it, unless you're willing to wait that long, but as with 2.x, most people know how long it took them to get the game to a competitive level, and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the 3.x being done by a different company, which puts us back to square 1.

Bfbc2 is definitely where it's at.

I did advise this in the sticky

When it's ready to play we'll let everyone know... depending what games are out at the time it may have a chance.
