If you dont have an account already, you should set one up as it makes buying products and services off the net secure and so easy. Relating to CyberGamer, people will need an account for our P2P leagues, or if they want to become Premium members and donate.

PayPal is website allowing payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet. A PayPal account can be used with your own bank account or a credit card. PayPal is like the middle man between a buyer and seller, keeping both parties private details confidential, and allow for refunds if you dont recieve what you paid for. Their is no added cost for using paypal as a buyer.

Creating an Account

You will need to go to the following link to register, in the personal account tab.

You have to enter all your contact information at this point. You need to be over 18, but they dont check, so just say your at least over 18.

~If you have a Credit Card, you can attach it and payments will be made instantly.
~If you only have a bank account you can attach that, but will need to confirm it's yours via a deposit/withdrawl test from paypal.

Buying Online

If you want to buy something from a website, you can only do so if the site supports PayPal. Most sites do these days, allowing for secure payments.

You will proceed to a Checkout section, where you select to pay via PayPal, which will then link you to log into your PayPal account and confirm payment.

~If you have a Credit Card on your account, payment will be recieved instantly, and goods will be shipped/e-mailed etc ASAP.
~ If you have a Bank Account, it will take 2-3 days for paypal to confirm you have money in your account and pay the Seller. After its confirmed, goods will be shipped/e-mailed etc ASAP.

Nice work. I've got a visa debit card linked to my bank account, and set up my paypal account to use it instead of the bank account. So it takes the money from the bank account straight away (don't have to wait 2-3 days). Best of botth worlds imo

Great work Rohi, I was one of the few that cbf/wasnt sure if i should sign up. I did about 4 months ago and it really is so useful. Everyone should sign up as it is secure and trustworthy. The number of people signed up worldwide should give u an idea of safety of it.

Yeah, PayPal is good, and the fact that a large backing of users, and stores are using it for more and more everyday, show it's going to be quite pivotal in online shopping for years to come.

Do you have to be 18?

I dont think you have to be 18, you just have to have a bank account. Their was a rule in the past, but i dont think it applies anymore. Can someone confirm, if not ill make one for my brother who is 15.

It took me a while to setup PayPal also, but i should have done it sooner. So much crap i bought over seas that you cant get here for cheap or stuff i wouldnt buy in a store, makes it so easy. Headsets, XBL, Shoes, phones, work out stuff etc, hardly buy from shops anymore.

Rohi, dont need to be 18, my cousin was 16 when he set his up. Just need a bank account in your name and thats it.

Yeah PayPal is very helpful.

Getting a headset with it, brought some MSP from GameCard with it.

Yeah i have been using PayPal for over a year and it's essential for buying things online if you want to keep you account safe, also great for selling items on eBay because all you have to tell them is your email address and it deposits to your Paypal account.

@Rohi, I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 because when i signed up i'm pretty sure i lied about my age.

Also it's great for buying things that they don't sell here for example, I buy flavored sunflower seeds which they don't sell here and are fairly cheap off eBay. :

i just use my visa debit card, its separate from my the account i get paid in, so i just put money into it when i want to buy something.
So can i just use my visa debit to upgrade to premium or do i have to use paypal??

@ Don, You can use your debit card, but if you get screwed over like on eBay, good luck getting a refund, where with PayPal you can get refunded.

Doesnt apply to sites you trust, but be wary of giving your full account details to some sites.

i'm with Newcastle permanent, they cover up to $1500 for losses through ebay, and up to $5000 for losses through other means ( eg some1 stole it and used all my money's :S:S:S:S )
So i'm fine.


I tried to upgrade to premium but everytime i went to pay it kept redirecting me to where to enter my paypal details :S ( maybe a glitch, will try again now and get back to you )

dw it wasnt a glitch... i just forgot to uncheck that box at the start :S

yeh was gonna say, it can take you to paypal, but then choose not to pay via paypal.
