CS:S CGo Finals and Updates

Image

CGo Ladder Finals
On Saturday the 27th of February, the top 8 ranked teams on the CGo ladder will be locked. This means that no new challenges can made against these teams. Any challenges made against a top 8 team before the 27th of February will be played out. After all remaining matches have been completed, the remaining top 8 teams will proceed into the CGo finals, which will be played the following week.

The CGo finals will follow a single elimination format. If a team loses a match, they will be knocked out of the finals. The final two teams will proceed into the Grand Final, which will follow a best of three format. The first team to win two matches will be crowned CGo champions!

Changes in the upcoming CGo season
The CGo ladder will be undergoing some important changes over the next few weeks. All teams currently competing on the CGo ladder will need to read this article and sort out any issues with these new changes over the coming weeks.

The new CS:S CGo season will start shortly after the finals from the previous season have been played out. With the new season, comes a new anti-cheat program. The CGo ladder will be using EasyAntiCheat (EAC) instead of X-ray this season!

Image

EasyAntiCheat is a far more effective anti-cheat program and is a lot easier to use than X-ray. Here are a few advantages that EAC has over X-ray:

  • EAC is only 3MB in size. You'll have it downloaded in no time.
  • Over half of disputes were due to problems with X-ray. Changing to EAC will save your time and the admins time.
  • EAC uses a stand-alone .exe file, which means you don't have to install it.
  • EAC does not require you to register an account, you just run the program.
  • EAC screenshots are automatically uploaded to a server and are only viewable by admins.

All the information you will need about EAC, including a download link, setup guide and answers to common questions and problems can be found here. Please read through the whole topic, as it will answer most of your questions. If you are still having problems using EAC or have any questions about it, you can send in a support ticket.

Once the top 8 places are locked we will be able to continue with laying out the first round of the eliminations. It will be set maps as per rounds. The final two teams will play bo3 (Best of Three).

But more Information about the Finals will be posted in the coming week.

We didn't want to change to EAC mid season, so we are ending the season

The next season will be a short season to match up around the same time as the Leagues.

Eac makes very little difference at all, but to be honest if xray is affecting you more than like 4 times a game you have a problem with it, the only time you should notice a tiny little fps drop/tik spike is when it takes the screenshot, which is infrequently.

But honestly EAC is a much more effective anti cheat and shouldnt cause fps/tik spikes.

Good move tbh CG ^_^
