After several days messing around with the beta python scripts for BC2 i have managed to tweak them so in game events are pumped out to an irc channel.

It is very much beta and the only information sent by the server is Player kills, chat, joins and leaving.

At the moment there is no weapon display, control points destroyed, times or stuff that can make it more interesting.

So if your keen on seeing the action as it is called join irc.gamesurge.net server and channel #cg_irc_cast

Keep in mind this is beta just like the game and once retail is released i am hoping there will be more events to display.

The chat can be very interesting indeed.

Only thing missing from the player kills is the weapon at the moment.

I am an irc noob and havent had time to fine tune my bot to connect to 3 channels and also modify the script so it send the chat to the correct channels as well.

But! over the next week i will modify it so it can do multiple casts.

usually to run more than 2 irc connections to the one server, at least in the past with my experience running my IRC bot, required permission and modification on the server's end as most servers I've been to have a 2 connections from same ip limit.

Kewl.

If there is a GC caster in the match or grand supreme referee Talnoy or whoever, you could get them to type that "stage x point y destroyed" in game chat and that will siphon it off to the IRC feed (after say a minute delay or similar incase some ******o team like us doesnt realise a point has been destroyed).

B0ol. - Gamestah will be in the game so you could well listen to the commentary while you read the scorebot.
