In regards to quality vs. quantity, the thread is a new albums and I only posted albums that i rated above a 3/5 on my RYM account. Also only posted from genres that were close to / bordered on what had already been posted before me.

sputnik has some pretty decent reviews. found some pretty good bands on there I probably would never have found on my own.

nah misunderstood me. Was in reference to not 'having enough variety" genre wise. Just saying no point chucking in a bunch of stuff for the sake of variety. Would rather have quality metal/rock etc then letting in crappy grade stuff from other genres.

Been using sputnik for 4 years. Pretty much been the major resource behind expanding my music taste.

oh btw just had an idea for a simple interim fix for organising the thread. Id be happy to edit/update the original post of the 2011 thread with the list of albums already mentioned alphabetically for quick referencing. Thoughts?

If it's possible, it would be pretty cool if the thread creator called pass out editing rights to other members to edit the op. Would make it a lot easier to keep it up to date and reduce the amount of editing one person has to do, seeing as this thread has so much content.

Wouldn't really be that bad. I check this thread every time its posted in as it is. So would just be a matter of copy pasting the album/band name and maybe even the genre into a word doc list sorted alphabetically. Can even just Alt+F on the front page if you wanna quickly check.

Get drew to moderate it and delete the nonsense posts and it should be a winner (providing we have a good year for music )
