For teams who do not wish to participate in the BFBC2 Conquest Champions League their will be a standard open ladder for you to compete in, this ladder will unlock soon for all participants so stay tuned to this space for more information.

Currently we are finalising the formats for competition.

Seeing it's the first week of release and BF games have never been mod friendly, any competitive play will be played on vanilla.

At this point I wish they included connect via IP in the browser, this is gonna be a pain.

im assuming this will be conquest. any chance of an open rush ladder too? conquest is great however im kinda enjoying the fast paced nature of rush and seeing it was run during the beta theres no reason it cant work now the games out.

Rush is too much of a pub mode atm. It would need a few changes, e.g. Stopwatch to actually be considered for a ladder. A ref would need to be in games to take the times and unfortunatly in an open ladder there wouldn't be enough refs to do it.

All rush really needs is a match setup like we used in the beta comp (i.e stopwatch timer/automated round reset etc) and it would be brilliant. In fact I'd say it would eclipse conquest as a competitive format.

(Slightly biased having always been a fan of ET/Quake Wars =P)

If it was any other fps title, I'd suggest a mod would take care of this but considering the lack of mod support when it comes to BF games, this looks unlikely. IF a solution was forthcoming however, the only real hurdle would be convincing the stubborn conquest fans to compete in the ladders/leagues.

Indeed :/

I like rush mode, conquest is ok but the rush maps seem much more focused

The 'hardcore' kiddies will scream conquest 8v8 only or your a noob and it'll never happen. Shame because the best maps are the rush maps

Rush should never be played in a competition match until they have proper timers and detection systems that works out who got the furthest and calculates the winner. Some maps will be almost IMPOSSIBLE to successfully attack, specially since now you need 12 C4 or so to blow up a site, not to mention 1/2 of the rush maps has like 6 phases.

Conquest is still the way to go, but I'd really consider 10v10. Why? because look at the size of the maps. The maps (well most of them) are easily bigger then the BF2 16p maps, and the BF2 comps initially were ran 10v10.

rush isnt competitive, most maps are too stacked towards defense.
