Okay, so I need some help with this game, half of it I don't understand and can't find anything to enlighten me. Google is useless.

'bout ready to lob the disc out the window.

Firstly: Can't join GA servers, kicks me, and there's no reason, on top of that I can't even see a GA/Crysis sub-forum to ask for help. I've updated PB manually (no "Crysis: wars" in the PBsetup.exe) and as far as I know there's no patches yet(?).

Secondly: Tweaks, are there any? The amount this game chokes when certain vehicles are on-screen is disgusting. I have an 8800 too. Also is there a way to view FPS?

Thirdly: Binds. What's the go, can I bind the Maximum power/jump/stupid to keys or do I have to keep going through that silly menu. Is there something I'm missing?

Fourthly: Save Settings, so far I've had to redo half my controls whenever I restart the game. It's annoying. Most things save, but little things like gamma/brightness always default on me.

Cheers!~

firstly: is pb turned on in game settengs?

secondly: you can change the cvars files to get better tweeks, fps = r_displayinfo=1

thirdly: my Documents/my games/crysis wars/profiles/your profile/then there is a file of actionmaps or something

fourthly: make sure you have you press apply or the settings undo

Yes. It's only GA that kicks me, fresh install, no cvars touched (yet). Other servers are fine.

Thanks. I've found a few FPS related commands since my original post. Still lacking though.

I found a tweakguide, which I actually went through earlier, god knows how I missed it:

Quote from Someone:
!action name="defensemode" onPress="1">

!key name="Z"/>

!/action>

In the above example, the Z key is bound to Armor Mode, and a single press of it will activate that mode. However in place of defensemode above, you can substitute the following: speedmode for Speed Mode; strengthmode for Strength Mode; and suitcloak for Cloak Mode. And in the key name line you can substitute any key you wish.

You'd think they'd allow you to do that through the menu though.

@TailGunner: Thanks again!

Hey dude, not sure about the pb problem...haven't had any grief from pb while playing crysiswars. To switch suit modes really quickly, make sure you have "suit shortcuts" checked in your game settings-mouse and keyboard. there are 2 sets of shortcuts you can use - first: 4=armor, 44=speed, 444=strength, 4444=stealth.
Second: double tap s (backwards)=armor,
double tap L/shift=Speed, double tap L/Ctrl (crouch)=Stealth,. there are 2 different ways to activate strength: double tap E(melee) for a strength melee attack, double tap SPACE (jump for a strength jump. Also if you change your bindings (i have crouch bound to my forward mouse thumb button (g-5)...i use left crouch for push-to-talk on vent) the shortcut is also bound to that key/button.

The problem was, GA doesn't allow any of the Generic auto-names, so I had to make a profile before I could join, which is fine. What annoyed me was there was no kick message on my end, so had I not done that I would have never figured it out.

Ta. I ended up making my own binds. Actionmaps is pretty handy, and to toggle between +hold and normal is cool. I went with:

-sprint + speed are both shift
-mouse5 is stealth, and bound a toggle there to turn +speed off on shift (so it doesn't un-camo me when I run)
-strength is space (as well as jump-).
-armour is just "e"

I figured out my problem with save settings, well I found an alternative with /writeconfig manually.

I'm getting decent FPS now, never chuggs, and stays pretty high even on the worse maps. Thanks to GotFrag config whores.

LoL booger, there's not too many players, but it only costs $30..I don't mind it for some fun, it's fast paced.. There's jeeps/tanks/hovercrafts and other flying crap though.

It could be good if there were better game types, like CTF or something (unless there is one?). I've only had it for a day, it's easy to get used to, go get it, we'll start a team. roFF. <3

Yeah, I'm keen for some CTF. They play TIA 4v4 on CG ladder, looks boring.

The setup is a bitch, one thing this game lacks is decent customization, have to go through configs to change most things.

Pretty sure you can make it look like CoD, unless you're talking about something else? Hit me up on MSN, we'll get a vent. I'll be on from 5:30.

You're going to change Gametypes in the middle of the ladder?

I've found a possibility in actionmaps to change that, actually I was looking for something similar yesterday to change the crouch +hold, that should be +toggle-able, but I found a cvar for that directly:

Quote from Someone:
cl_crouchToggle=1
(only works as an Autoexec or system)

However there is:
Quote from Someone:
!action name="zoom" onPress="1" onRelease="1">
So you should be able to just change the onRelease to "0", with just onPress active is should hopefully zoom-out after the first click (aka +hold).

Goto "documents/my games/crysis wars/profiles/your profile/" find actionmaps.XML

Find the line that looks like:
Quote from Someone:
!action name="zoom" onPress="1" onRelease="1">
!key name="mouse2"/>
!/action>

***replace the "!"'s with "<"

..and see if that works without onRelease. Havn't tried it myself, I use toggle anyway. <3
