Gears of War 2 is coming out very soon, and will be out for the next season of True Rank.

So I was wondering what sort of interest there would be in running a Gears league? Or any other X360 league for that matter - Gears 2 will be the latest and looks amazing so thought it might make for a good league!!

I am interested in getting an xbox league off the group. Difficulty myself and Mark have run into has been the lack of Xbox game centres out there.

Gears of war 2 will certainly be included in the 2nd season of the online xbox ladders.

If gamer and game centres are intrested they should let it be known.

Yeah that is currently the only difficulty. I'll be getting in contact with gaming centres at a later date regarding this sort of a league, as there are a fair few Xbox 360 game centres around - so we really just need to decide on a game to be played.

Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 are also possibilities as they're very popular games, but Gears of War 2 was my favourite as its not really like anything else played in the league, and its not Halo

Ok to be part of or to connect to others with the x360 what is needed besides a console, TV and internet connection?

Haven't had anything to do with consoles since I got my ps1 back in the days. Got a ps2 for my girls but I haven't touched it since I set it up for them. WOuld be somethign different.

Console, TV or Monitor and internet connection is all you'll need to be part of the console league, assuming we're playing over the internet rather than VPN (private internet games are easy to do ).

You may have to open some ports on your router, although I'm not sure on the details and whether or not that's possible without opening big ol' security risk

With TV vs Monitor, I'd suggest monitor in the cafe situation. Guf has got 22" Widescreen monitors hooked up to the console so they take the same room as PCs, and still look great. Monitors give HD picture, whereas Standard Definition TVs look terrible.
