Massive thanks to the guys at IBISQ-Hawthorn for providing a top-notch place for all us guys that were disappointed with the COD5 launch party to go to this weekend.

Not only did we spend MORE time at IBISQ than the launch party itself, but we had a hell of a lot more fun there too.

I know I appreciated the 'go for it' attitude we received, and I'm sure it would be gladly given back if the need arose.

Thanks guys, was an awesome place to game/chat etc.

Yea it was good, Went from that "launch party" where the only excitement was the fire alarm getting pulled.. to IBISQ where we chilled for the rest of the night and overloaded the car and headed home. Dont think u were there Chop You missed out on a mad game where Whitchy rage quit hardcore lols

You forgot the over luminescent purple OP crap. The colours ingame are awful way too overpowering, it's like its Red Alert Teletubby edition.

I was there earlier. then i left cos ibisq sucks the big ones....

no wait that's not the reason, it was because i was soft and was going for a run at 10 that morning so i wanted some sleep.

Plus... i get to see witchy rage all the time!

Yeah the colours of the game suck. I don't know why it looks worse then c&c3 if its on an improved engine.

Only saving thing about the game is coop, its kinda fun but would be better over a lan then the net.

Must be like how the draw distance in cod5 is horrid vs cod4.

Yeah I do rage good though RA3 was one of my best.

The draw distance can be altered once you unlock the cvar's in CoD5 so its really a non-issue.

C&C RA3 however is just screwed from the start. The visual area is far too small, the colours look like someone has set digital vibrance to max in the nVidia drivers (hate to think what it would look like if that was actually done!!!) and the gameplay is like playing with tonka toys.

Gimme the original over this any day (it's all downhill after the original) as it's at least semi-playable.

yeah I managed to get RA to work over tcp/ip even under server 2008 the other day. Still the best c&c game ever made!

A cvar is a game variable used to alter things like what is on screen etc...
One of them is cg_drawfps 1
However it seems to be disabled by default on CoD5 (dunno why :s). There is a cvar patch though that allows you to get them working again, though I haven't had time to test it yet. If there is an downloads area here I may upload it to it for ease of finding.

You gotta let me know how as I would love to get that working properly again

Are you from the RA2 era? Cos 3 and 2 looked nothing like 1 did. 1 looked gritty and realistic (to a degree) but 2 was crap, and 3 looks like it, well I have already commented on that. I would have preferred a more realistic game than a lets play with my robot toys game. It's almost like a playable episode of Transformers when playing as the Japs. Go play the original then you'll understand...

http://acme-labz.com/red-alert/red-alert-multiplayer-over-tcp-ip-guide-works-in-vista-too/

Thats the guide i used to get tcp-ip working with my first decade version of RA. Truerank need a RA comp next season, seeing it is the best RTS ever made! Sure its all about the tank rush but hey.
