The Wii drives are know to stop working Cost for a new one is about 157 bucks or there about for a new one.

I suggest get a Rom emulator ( modchip ) to bypass the dvdrom altogether.

I have set 3 wii consoles with the Flatmii modchip and is very easy to install. I load the ISO games for a lappy and play any game i want from any region.

Thus eliminating my dvdrom stuffn up and of course playing backed up games
